Great short trail for cycling and walking. Lots of bikes but rules are clearly posted/stated and most everyone is courteous except for a few cyclist who like to “flex” their riding & speed skills for everyone to see! More crowded on weekends but great for morning rides before the walking crowd arrives. The nature center is worth a visit too! Good parking areas
Wow! We were so happy to connect not only with this trail but also the Shelby Bottoms trail to make a 15 mile route from our East Nashville rental! Great scenery and super cool bridges .
I rode this greenway back in the summer and one of the interesting aspects was the herd of goats that keep the vegetation on the levee in check. I rode again in February and was not surprised to see that the goats were not out there, nothing to eat this time of year. But I am curious. What happens to those goats when winter rolls in and the vegetation dies?
The Eureka Trail in Englewood TN is easy and scenic. It runs 5.6 miles and has bathroom facilities at one end. It is really fun and I highly recommend checking it out!
Amazing trail for biking or running. Beautiful 11 miles round trip. Be aware of dogs off leach but it is to expect in the middle of the country. The dogs we encounter were not aggressive so no big deal.
The westernmost section of the trail is exposed to traffic on Skyhawk Parkway unless mature corn is in the crop field. The bridge is nice, though the creek is often a trickle. The trail is now 1.66 miles and connects McDonald's to the downtown farmer's market. The last half mile is somewhat exposed as well with houses and businesses on both sides though only one road crossing. Yet this road crossing across Lindell Street is very dangerous with Blake's Restaurant blocking vision of and from southbound traffic. There is a huge bike sculpture to indicate a pedestrian crossing, but you will still have to wait a while at busy times of the day.
Absolutely gorgeous scenery. Also, a few restaurants are accessible from the trail!
A wonderful trail with a pleasant amount of walkers and bikers on a Saturday morning. Gorgeous tree lined path with picturesque bridges. Love this one!
Nice trail, rode it on a Wednesday with very few people using it. Tent city was a surprise but didn't see anyone there. Really quite and peaceful ridd
My husband and I rode this trail for the first time and were so happy we discovered it! Not only did we enjoy a peaceful, scenic ride along the river, there is plenty of civil war landmarks along the way to learn about. The 10 mile ride runs through a historic battlefield, a park with picnic benches, and golf course, so there are plenty of places to stop along the way if you wish. When we went, a portion of the bridge that connects to the trail on over the river was closed on both sides due to current repair and maintenance so we were a bit disappointed, however, we jumped in our car and found the trail that continued on the other side and finished up that part of the trail which was worth it!
This great family rails to trails is now 5.6 miles. There is a trailhead in Englewood and a trailhead in Athens. There are now bathrooms at the Athens Trailhead. There is ample parking at the Athens Trailhead.
