Awesome Fall Afternoon

October, 2025 by w.e.danley

My wife and I road this trail yesterday (October 25, 2025). The fall colors were beautiful and the day was perfect, 64 degrees with a slight breeze and partly cloudy. The trail is in great condition and can be tackled by nearly all ability levels.

Wonderful ride

Rode from Sevier River RV park down to the end at Big Rock Candy Mountain resort area (and back). Beautiful! Smooth paved trail down a canyon next to a river and non-busy highway. Beautiful high canyon walls.

Elsinore City Park to Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort

April, 2025 by jxgms7cff5

We parked at the city park in Elsinore and joined the bike trail a few blocks away. The asphalt trail was smooth and well-maintained for all 16.5 miles. There are a few moderate hills during the first 5 miles. The scenic part of the trail begins 10 miles in at the Candy Mountain Trailhead. The last 6.5 miles were our favorite part. We had ice cream and filled our water at the Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort.

Candy Mountain Express Bike Trail

Pleasant

I started from Elsinore Park in Elsinore, UT and rode the trial to Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort; from beginning to end and back again.
I liked the trail better closer to the resort but it was on the whole a nice ride.

Candy Mountain Express Bike Trail

beautiful!

June, 2024 by 13jeepgirl

I just did a short part of it from Sevier to big rock. It was beautiful. The wind was a bit strong the day I went. But it is a canyon so what do you expect. The trail is in great condition. Just one part where it was a little eroded. There was a big cone to mark it. It was a beautiful ride!

Pleasant Ride

We were there in the fall. The colors were beautiful and the ride relaxing. I was impressed by the benches to stop at and rest or to sit and soak in the scenery.

Red Canyon Bicycle Trail

A pleasant trail

October, 2022 by 2barrittc

My wife and I rode this while visiting Bryce Canyon. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the large cracks in the pavement as others have mentioned. Just be aware that it’s all up hill in one direction and the altitude can make it challenging if you’re not used to it. We rode it from the Bryce City end to the opposite trailhead and back and I was glad I had rented an ebike

Sweet Ride Into Canyon

October, 2020 by acewickwire

Location: Sevier, UT
Parking: Large parking area off of Hwy 89 within a mile of I-70 exit.
Trail Condition: Excellent condition, recently resealed, wide pavement. Hard to find a trail in better condition.
Signage: Trail very well signed with mileage markers every 1/2 mile.
Comments: The trail is 16.5 miles from end to end, not the 8 miles listed on TrailLink. We did the portion from Sevier south into the canyon and was well worth the easy stop off of I-70. Was a beautiful fall afternoon. Is an old railroad bed with very slight grade up hill to the south end of trail. The trail is on the opposite side of the river, most of the time, from the highway and makes for a peaceful ride along the river. There is an old railroad tunnel with information signs, unfortunately they were not able to route the trail through the old tunnel, still was fun to see. We really enjoyed this trail. We didn’t the portion of trail from Sevier north to Elsinore, if time permitting would also be nice ride, although much more straight and through the open countryside.

Red Canyon Bicycle Trail

red canyon

October, 2020 by kevincall

I rode down the canyon. Only saw one other bike the whole way. Agree with other reviewers, while the bath has been resurfaced, some of the many cracks were very jarring on narrow tires. Beautiful fall ride. A very abrupt end at the end of trail.

Red Canyon Bicycle Trail

I would do it again but

September, 2020 by ekalman3

The reason I gave only four stars is the very poorly fixed cracks in the last five miles at the red canyon end of the trail. This part is the most interesting but hard to fully enjoy it with the very bumpy ride. Being in the mountain you find lots of ups and downs and you will always encounter strong winds to or from the round trip. From Bryce Where the actual painted trail starts it took 13.2 miles to get to the other end, not 16. I highly recommend electric bike unless you are an avid biker. Don’tforget you are on high altitude

Sevier Jct to Big Rock Candy Mt Resort

September, 2020 by adsaxs

We cycled from our RV spot at Sam Stowe campground at Fremont Indian State Park to the Sevier Junction Trailhead located off of I-70 exit 23. We headed towards Big Rock Candy Mt resort. The trailhead is newly paved as was the entire 6.0 mile section to the resort. Nicely done paving job. The first mile or so, the trail parallels Hwy 89 but gets nicer as you continue on the slight uphill to the resort. Be sure to start early, maybe 10am or so, to avoid the winds. The Eagle Rock Tunnel located along the trail is closed (hazardous conditions).

Enjoy the downhill return and gorgeous scenery on the way back to the trailhead!

From Florida and we rode catrikes. Incline and declines were ok. Trail is like being in mountains without being a mountain biker.
