Erica Greif Memorial Bikeway

A nice fall afternoon ride!

November, 2019 by pam.brandbuilders

Easy trail with wide open views. Well maintained for one small area that needs some goat head bushes trimmed. Nice benches at several points to take a break. No shade, except under one bridge, so be prepared if it’s summer. We ended up on several nice bike/walk paths in housing developments on the southern end that took us back to our motel off 580. Easy For families with kiddos.

DO NOT RIDE FROM WADSWORTH!

September, 2018 by erynlizabeth

We started at the elementary school. After having to climb through 2 gates, my bike(a trail hybrid) could not handle all the sand. 2 miles in, we decided to turn around because I was struggling. On the way back, all 4 of our bike tires went flat.

It was over grown, very awkward gates blocking the labled pathway. Lots of goat heads. So many. And the best part was we paid to do this.

Truckee River Legacy Trail

Beautiful hike, but!

March, 2018 by delimashariff

It's such a beautiful trail. My only concern is that the dogs are not on leashes, they are allowed to run around freely. Yes they are adorable, playful whatever, but they have teeth!

Stateline-to-Stateline Bikeway

Truckee River Legacy Trail

Breathtaking view & fun trail

August, 2017 by 41onesweetworld

Went biking with my 11 year old on 8.12.17, Saturday. We started at the trail head on the steep hill from the Truckee River Regional Park's parking lot. We rode a total of 8.36 miles downstream and back. The landscape, wildlife, countless bird species, river, and sky were a breath of fresh air for us. Segments of shady trees in between sunny spots to rest at as well as benches to sit on and take in the surrounding beauty. Bring lots of water and snacks. Highly recommended. #leaveonlyfootprints #packoutwhatyoupackin, #LoVEarth

Truckee River Legacy Trail

This trail is beautiful! It runs along the Truckee river, away from roads and is a great ride for the entire family. It is fairly flat, and the Truckee river is gorgeous during this incredible spring thaw we are experiencing. There are bike rentals available in downtown Truckee at Bike Truckee.

Tahoe Trailways Bike Path

Sugar Pine Point SP to Squaw Valley

October, 2016 by msadlier9

Very nice ride with the exception of what I call the "Homewood Death Strip". Basically a construction project that has gone on for years, has no known end point and is dangerous to navigate. Most the trail along the lake is older bike trail, so don't expect it to be up to more modern engineering standards, but is very scenic. The trail west from Tahoe City to Squaw Valley was wonderful and modern, too bad it does not go all the way to Truckee. To do that you have to venture out on the highway with the concurrent noise and bad driving habits. Best time to go is a week after Labor Day, no crowds, very relaxing. Would give it 5 stars if it were not marred by the Homewood stretch. Town needs to get its act together.

Sawmill Bike Path

Nice place for a trail to access South Tahoe HS

August, 2016 by spkh

The Sawmill trail is now complete from HWY 50/89 to South Tahoe HS. I join this trail with the Pat Lowe Memorial trail in Meyers. The combination is about 5-6 miles one way. A real nice 11 mile round trip on our tandem.

The first part of the trail crosses several business entrances in Meyers but after that there are but 4 street crossings all the way to the home of the vikings.

The trail has minimal elevation change and accesses some Mountain Bike trails near the north end. There are several restaurants near the very south end.

Nice forest setting. nice wild flowers. Nice trail - well maintained. It is now but a short run along Lake Tahoe BLVD to get to the Y - only a couple of short residential streets from Eloise Street - that accesses Pope and Baldwin Beaches.

Sawmill Bike Path

They have just cut the beautiful trees in my front yard...

September, 2015 by antoniahall

Terrible. This trail goes right through our front yard on Sawmill Road. They have just now cut down the 100+ year old trees along our driveway to make way for this ridiculous bike trail which costs millions of taxpayer dollars to construct. The trail took out some beautiful trees and now the views are less than optimal along it, with one of our neighbors putting up the ugliest cyclone fence imaginable for 1/2 mile right on the trail which borders his property. Enjoy the Tahoe views! Meanwhile, Sawmill Road is full of pot holes and cracks due to the heavy equipment that has been going up and down the road to construct this white elephant. The trail ends at the "Y" and starts at Meyers. Big deal. It doesn't connect to the beaches at all-- it is truly a trail to nowhere unless you want to hang out at the "Y". I will be planting even more trees to hide this monstrosity which has totally reduced the privacy and peace at our house.

Donner Pass Transcontinental Railroad Tunnels Trail

Great history.

September, 2015 by woodywoodlife

There's easy access to the trail that goes through several abandoned tunnels. Easy walking, take a flashlight.
