I rode this trail twice while visiting the Valley. I rode this trail from my momās house in Donna to the entrance on Silver Street. I took the trail south to South St the east to Harlan Park in Weslaco. I rode a few miles in Weslaco the got back on the trail. I headed West to Donna and onto Val Verde Rd where the trail ends. I turned south on Val Verde and rode to Donna Lake then onto the first levy. I then reversed my course to ride back to my momās house on 13th Street in Donna. I did this same route two days later but at night. It was even nice since the trail is well lit. I also have lights for when I was on the gravel roads and levy at night.
Rode Hidalgo 2 this morning! This is a well maintained, lightly populated trail that has plenty of facilities and, had it been dark, a well lit path with NO TRAFFIC CROSSES! I can hardly wait for the second section (Hidalgo 1) to be added which will bring the trail within a half mile from home!
We rode a round trip on this trail today. It could definitely use some TLC on most of the surface. Itās mostly narrow, especially in places where grass is growing into the edges of the path. Overall, we enjoyed the ride.
Rode the entire trail today. Nice trail some mud from recent rain. Itās a paved trail but could use some TLC
Mostly along the road. Could use an occasional outhouse
