Line Creek Trail

Line Creek Starting Point Location At The 0 Mile Marker

September, 2024 by jmcnally1977

I rode this trail on September 16, 2024. The signs on the trail are present but on "first look" can be missed by the uninitiated and once read are still slightly confusing. The signs are simply "waist high mile marker posts " showing directional arrows and text point to both access roads nearby (there are many!) as well as general trail direction. So read the signs carefully your first time out! The needed info is on these posts, albeit in a confusing manner.
The trail has "a few smaller hills" that should be considered closer to beginner level: they are not exceedingly long or tall for most folks. The majority of the trail trends as flat IMO.
The trail is fun to ride and certainly has scenic beauty. The trail path is a bit wider than I expected and the surface is in excellent shape at the time of my ride.
My greatest challenge was finding the zero mile starting point! The trail map on this web site, and on Google maps, are both technically incorrect. The trail's actual starting point is in the EH Young Riverfront Park parking lot, immediately east of the Argosy Casino property, next to the restrooms and the river. This park is also, by far, the best place to park anywhere on the southern part of the trail.

Route 152 Trail

Noisy

August, 2024 by dpate

Very nice trail that I rode a few miles on after connecting from the Line Creek Trail. I like the trail but the highway roar was too annoying for me. I did not complete it because of this. Great trail but too noisy. Traveling cyclist Facebook

Line Creek Trail

Super trail

August, 2024 by dpate

I want to give this trail more than five stars! A lot of it is curvy and hilly through woods and along water. I can’t think of anything this trail lacks. I started at the trailhead at Waukomis Drive and road north, then turned back and rode south to the casino and back. This first couple hills got me a bit winded and it seemed it was mainly uphill going north. I rode on a Saturday morning threatening rain, I saw a lot of walkers but few cyclists. I relied on Trailink map to keep me on the trail. Super stoked to ride it again! Traveling cyclist Facebook

Great little local connector

I turned off Line Creek Trail to check this trail out. It’s great for the locals to access the Line Creek Trail. It is very short but 5 stars from me. Traveling cyclist Facebook

Riverfront Heritage Trail

I biked the streets of KC which are all under construction. I did 21.5 miles. Never really found the trail & I looked. If you stay in town you can bike from a hotel.

Riverfront Heritage Trail

awesomely terrible

November, 2023 by ydm7k9qxyt

If you start where the north east end of the trail is at ballys casino you will find A wide concrete trail with signage and benches. However, 1/10 of a mile end of the trail it’s all blocked off for construction of a stadium and a motel no way around. Back to the vehicle load up the bike and go to the next place you can get on. Ride for 1/4 mile stop for six flights of stairs. Fortunately, there is an elevator for bikers. However, at the top of the elevator, you’re right across a wooden bridge and it dumps you into a commercial industrial area With no signage or sign of a trail. This trail could be awesome but as it is, it sucks. that is totally lacking in a trail and any signage. I rode around for a half an hour in the industrial area, trying to find any sign of the trail. Finally, I gave up and turned around and wrote back. This trailer could be awesome

Prairie Creek Greenway

Good trail - loop now complete

November, 2023 by ddyjrl

We enjoyed our first ride on this trail. Not a lot of people and went through pretty scenery. We went on the south route from the trailhead which was a slight climb and then north by road and found trail coming back though this app doesn’t show the connection. The north route is fairly hilly.

Line Creek Trail

Love the trail But there are alot of bikers then walkers. The bikers tend to ride by you really fast so stay alert and listen to your surroundings. Wish they had there own lane.

Rode from the south at the Argosy casino to the Costco on 152 highway. Very nice. Riverside area was a bit sketchy but not that bad.

Weston Bluffs Trail

OK trail

September, 2022 by dan.allen.50552

If your headed to Weston, this is a nice side trail or Weston Bend State Park.Paved, gravel combination with ruts. The trailhead in Weston is hard to find, very poorly marked, word to the wise.
