Devil's River State Trail

Great scenery

November, 2021 by jac_marley

Rode the trail 10.29.21. Beautiful Fall scenery along the trail. I especially liked that this trail did not run adjacent to a busy highway like so many RtT do. Also enjoyed the variety of the landscapes and the fact that a large portion of the trail is higher than the adjacent terrain allowing for good views and vistas. Passing through a couple of small towns on the route was also enjoyable.
I deducted 1 star because there was a logging operation along about half of the trail. The heavy equipment being used tore up the surface pretty badly. I will assume that once the logging operation is complete, the surface will be restored (?).

Beautiful Fall Ride

Rode from Luxemburg to Kewaunee Fishery. After three days of rain the trail was dry. Most of trail is away from roads and beautiful. Had bonus to watch salmon swimming into fishery. Daughter was fascinated by the salmon.

Picked up trail on Hwy K in Cedar Grove and took it to Kohler-Andre Park. Trails are nicely maintained, restrooms along the way. At Oostburg you are on country road the remainder of the way. Little to no traffic. Also, not very scenic. Kohler-Andre is great.

Terrific Trail

September, 2021 by lisaknits2

Biked from Sturgeon Bay to the town of Algoma a little over 34 miles round trip. Absolutely beautiful day. The trail is mostly crushed limestone and mostly flat. Great for beginners. E-bikes would be fine on this trail. The town of Algoma is quaint and friendly and the views of the water and beach is lovely. Visit the Country Cupboard for some unique gifts and the super friendly owner, Katie. Saw turkeys, deer, and wild blueberry bushes, apple trees, and peach trees!! There’s a nice park for a stop in Forrestville with bathrooms. This was a great ride! Will do this trail Again!

Needs Better Directional Signage

September, 2021 by sharon.kay.baxter

We started walking the trail on the corner of S. Main St and W. Oshkosh St near Shawano's downtown. There's ample parking and a trailhead there. We headed west on a 4 mile loop that was indicated on the outdoor map. The trail was flat and easy to navigate, mostly paved with granite. It wasn't a scenic route and wasn't well marked. There were times when the gravel trail ended and you had to walk on the road. We had to refer to the TrailLink map and Google maps often to stay on course.

Went east and west of Loop the Little Lake Trail. East is on mostly side streets to a park. West is only paved halfway and noisy from Hwy 10.

About half the trail is crushed stone, but hard and easy to ride. From the northern end to Lasee Road is paved. Very nice along the river.

Great trail!!

September, 2021 by salinaburtnett

Beautiful trail! Easy ride! We ended up doing the whole trail round trip which was just under 30 miles with our kids. Stopped in Maribel on the way back at Gunslinger’s for some much needed fuel(burgers) and more water!

Duck Creek Trail (WI)

A half of a trail. About 5-6 miles out of town is where the finished very rideable part is. A 11 -12 mile round trip.

Newton Blackmour State Trail

Great trip!

August, 2021 by pechen11

Our family of 7 completed this trail this summer and had a blast. My wife and I have 5 kids ages 4-13 and it took us a few visits to knock out individual sections. We started on the east side of the trail and moved west and the section going into New London was closed unfortunately so we stopped our trip a little bit short. Great overall experience.

Eland - Bowler Segment

August, 2021 by 8xrnngvkvp

Wife and I took a ride on Sunday with our electric bikes from Eland to Bowler and back. Covered approximately 24 miles. It had rained heavily the day before in the area, but the trail had held up pretty nicely. The majority of this segment is crushed rock and well compacted. There were parts of it that have been overgrown with grass and weeds, but not to bad. My wife’s bike is a cruiser style bike with 2” tires, she had no trouble navigating on the trail. Plenty of scenery changes, with parts of the trail passing by farms, dips into some heavy canopy forest and a covered bridge/stream area right outside the Western edge of Bowler. A very relaxing bike ride, there are a number of stops to cross various county roads, So be aware of any traffic that may be in the way.

Home Trail

July, 2021 by kjacquart1

My wife and I consider this our "home" trail. We do it several times per year. One of the attractions is the large pond on both sides of the trail north of Maribel. It's appearance is different each visit. There is also parking in Rockwood at the trail end but no facilities until you get to Francis Creek.
