We rode this trail all the way to the north entrance of Snow Canyon SP. We were on me-bikes, not e-bikes. In the first miles there are some heart pumping grades. Thankfully there are beautiful vistas as well. I really appreciated the workout and look forward to doing it again. The back half of loop once you leave through the southern end of Snow Canyon is disheartening from all of the crazy development on Snow Canyon Parkway. When you’re in Snow Canyon you have to do the West Canyon Rd. trail. It’s very rideable gravel but the scenery is unmatched.
We rode this trail from Confluence Park and highly recommend it. It offers river views and mountain landscapes. Toward the north end there’s a spur called the Hell Hole Trail that provides any elevation gain you seek. We did the Virgin River South Trail as well but it pales in comparison.
Seriously one of the most scenic, and beautiful bike trails in the country in my opinion. You can also connect all the way to Bryce Canyon. The path is in excellent condition.
Disclaimer: Don’t park and hit the Virgin River North Trail from the Millcreek Park, you have to cross a very buy 4 lane road. There are other parking areas that a join the path. We did both the north and south trails and they make a part of the trail known as the “Mayors Trail Loop.” We did about 11 miles round trip and it was great.
This was an easy trail, no steep inclines or descents. Travelled it 3 days after rain storm. One of the tunnels was still covered in 6 inches of water/mud!! I wasn’t prepared for that but continued on, a little fun adventure! Came out the other side with bike and feet dirty, lol. Also didn’t realize the trail just abruptly ended in a neighborhood. Had to back track and exit off a side trail i hadn’t noticed before to get to Snow Canyon parkway.
I wanted to write a review since there hasn’t been one since 2020. Great trail, gentle hills and slopes and the trail goes along some businesses and soccer fields etc but stays right along the Virgin River the whole way although it isn’t always visible. There are rest stops and bathrooms along the way as well. Trail has had some repairs so it’s in good shape. Would highly recommend for the length of the ride, its connections to quite a few other trails and for the mountain views!
This is a great way to beat the lines and the crowds to see Bryce Canyon. It was a little challenging pedaling to the top, but we could stop at the overlooks and move at our own pace. The views from Inspiration Point are worth the short, steep hike from the parking lot. The ride back down was a breeze. We would do this one again.
We rode this on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend and it really was not crowded on the path. Long line of cars waiting to get in and fight the traffic but the bikes go right in and no entry fee. I felt bad for the people in the cars Beautiful trail. It has lots of curves and turns and a lot of shade from the huge trees. We parked in the Shuttle Parking lot with our jeep (lots of parking space!) and the trail starts right from there. It is a gradual incline all the way to Inspiration Point and a super fun almost coast on the way back down. There is another viewpoint before you get out to inspiration point which is amazing. You have to park your bikes and walk a short way at both viewpoints but not a problem. You can also stop at the visitor center. If you have an RV or are camping stay in Ruby's campground in Bryce Canyon City. This trail and the Red Canyon Bicycle Trail both start right from the campground.
My wife and I are from Arizona and we’re on our way to Lehi Utah. Stop in Saint George for the night and rode this trail next morning and glad we did! We rid our Catrike Dumouts with E Assist from Tawa pond where we parked and rode up to the state park. Where we payed 5 dollar to get in! What a Beautiful Ride on on a well maintained path with scenic views and as you gradually go up the canyon. This is well worth the entrance fee. What a great way to start a morning. We we be back to ride this again
What an amazing ride.. It's rough at the beginning inside camping area. After that the trail is GREAT. Amazing ride. So beautiful.
My wife and I rode this while visiting Bryce Canyon. I would have given it 5 stars if not for the large cracks in the pavement as others have mentioned. Just be aware that it’s all up hill in one direction and the altitude can make it challenging if you’re not used to it. We rode it from the Bryce City end to the opposite trailhead and back and I was glad I had rented an ebike
