Bumpy, some areas with large stones, not a pleasurable trail.

Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park (W&OD)

Nice way to see Northern Virginia.

We biked the trail from Asburn to Purcellville and found it to be a very enjoyable ride. We went on Memorial Day and it was great. The asphalt trail itself was in nice shape the entire trip and mileage markers every half mile. Elevation changes are minimal and easy for anyone to manage. Having Leesburg in the middle of our ride was great for foot and snacks both coming and going. Plenty of options. We will ride this trail again!

Indian Head Rail Trail

Best trail in Southern Maryland

May, 2021 by kevpull

Best trail in the area. The ride from White Plains to Indian Head and back (or vice versa) is a good workout, (26 miles total). This trail is a nature lover’s dream. Very clean and immaculate. I’ve ridden quite a few trails throughout the US and this is easily in the top two or three. Rest areas all along the way.

This path is really more of just an asphalt sidewalk. It is very close to a heavy traffic road

Dahlgren Railroad Heritage Trail

Exceptional

May, 2021 by olsen.sw

I only did 4 miles in of this trail recently, but it was extremely nice. Terrain varies between gravel, pine tags and a few dried mud bogs, but it was most enjoyable and pleasant. Future plans call for hiking the entire length and also a r/t mountain biking excursion.

Virginia Central Railway Trail

A nice Trail

May, 2021 by olsen.sw

Great for daily walks in around the city. One downside...you have to cross RT 1 to finish up the last .75 miles of the trail. A bit of a pain, but overall, it's a nice round trip walk.

Saunders-Monticello Trail

beautiful !

April, 2021 by destiny498

Found this trail while scrolling for new places with nice scenery and this was definitely it ! I loved the smell of flowers as you walk by the trees and flower bushes. Will say it can be a bit confusing if you go off a bit off the trail that leads directly to the Monticello visitors area due to the lack of signs, so It’s best to use this app to help with the map, However, it was still great seeing all the greenery. Also the boardwalk views are amazing, highly recommend this trail, will be returning soon.

Nice smooth ride through quiet marshes and trees. One of the best-kept trails I’ve ridden.

Lake Mercer Loop Trail

Cross County Trail (VA)

Great in sections

January, 2021 by elizabeth.scuderi

I ride this trail regularly. First of all you must have a hybrid, gravel or mountain bike to traverse several sections of gravel. My favorite section is between West Springfield and Route 50 because you pass by beautiful Lake Accotink.

Rocky Run Stream Valley Trail
