good for walking and ok to see some sites. not very good if you try to ride at a higher pace.
Trail is on and off road. It sometimes is on sandy along trail. Good walking not so much biking. Hard to follow signs from road.
Not so much this trail but all the others that attach to this one. Many spots with 4" of sand. Walking would be great. Bikes with narrow tires forget it. I have 3"tires and I fish tailed all over. Nice place and very clean. Restrooms were clean.
*Way* too Sandy for my taste, even with a trail bike. Couldn't figure out which I disliked more: fishtailing when going downhill into sand or spinning out while trying to go uphill.
Seemed like the trailhead coordinates weren’t accurate. They brought me to someplace close to the trail but with no parking area. All the parking areas are on route 22 (around 35.7412891, -79.6828295). Not exactly a quiet walk. Seemed to be some kind of man made buzz most of the walk. Never could figure out where it was coming from. But the views of the river were great and I saw one of the biggest great blue herons I’ve ever seen.
It definitely is not kid friendly. There are too many roots, holes, and giant rocks to use a stroller and my 5 year old kept tripping over it all we didn’t make it a very far before we had to turn around. We will come back just not with the little ones.
We just did this trail with teens- 70’s age range along with our dog. Everyone enjoyed it along with the Faith Rock loop ( Faith Rock trail is still easy but more like a traditional trail). We hope to return to the area in the future and explore more.
Great for walking and running. Not good for biking, sandy, narrow with trees.
Reservoir park was a wonderful walk to start our new adventures after two years stuck near home because of Covid. Not crowded, runners, walkers, dogs and toddlers on bikes. A beautiful mix of life.
Deep river was a great place to walk with your dog. Easy to find
I don’t live in the area but am a nurse at one of the health facilities in the area. I prefer running outdoors but am leaving home before the sun comes up and getting home after dark. I stumbled upon this trail behind my office during a lunch break several years back and loved it. I have been running it before or after work ever since. It’s a little confusing at first as it’s access points are minimally marked. But once you get the layout under your belt it’s a very nice trail!
