Trinity Forest and AT&T Trails

Another super Texas trail!

April, 2025 by dpate

I rode the Trinity Forest and AT&T trail on a weekday in early April 2025. It was a very windy day but there is a lot of cover and shade. There were some flooded low points but very passable. I saw only 4 hikers in the 19 miles I rode. I highly recommend checking this trail out. This is a super trail that deserves 5 stars!

Waxahachie Creek Hike & Bike Trail

Super trail!

April, 2025 by dpate

I road the Waxahachie Creek trail in early April 2025 on a beautiful sunny day. This is a short but great trail. It is smooth cement the entire way mostly winding through woods. I am not sure that it's quite six miles. A very enjoyable trail that I rate FIVE stars!

Flag Pole Hill Trail

It's a direct trail between 2 good routes. There are street crossings, and there can be mud in wet weather. It's very good for normal commuting, but I would not bring kids who aren't comfortable with traffic.

Tyler Legacy Trails

safe for runners

June, 2024 by lhale794

This is a nice shaded safe trail for runners.

White Rock Creek Trail

Very pretty

August, 2023 by kimbostian

The trail is dated but it is very pretty and there is lots of shade. This trail connects to the lake loop if you are desiring more.

White Rock Lake Park Loop Trail

A Dallas Must

August, 2023 by kimbostian

This is such a fun ride. You can see the skyline and pass the arboretum as you ride. The lake front provides a slight breeze and it has a wonderful community feel.

SoPac Trail

Delightful Find

August, 2023 by kimbostian

I love this trail to take a break from the sun at Whiterock Lake. It connects near winstead and the dam. It provides lots of shade and bridges.

Santa Fe Trail (Dallas)

Amazing near White Rock

August, 2023 by kimbostian

Lots of shade and fun near White Rock, once you pass Woodrow Wilson High there is less shade and many stop signs for car traffic, I am giving 4 stars because of the stop signs.

White Rock Creek Trail

Nice ride, scenic and not crowded

April, 2023 by ken.c.walker

This is a nice surprise in the heart of Dallas. I rode the last 6 miles (Hillcrest Park to Abrams). It's a scenic, mostly flat ride through several parks with lots of trees and shade. The only "unscenic" segment is Forest to Royal where it's next to commercial property.

I rode on a spring weekday morning. Traffic was light: a combination of bikers, runners and walkers. It was dry so I can't comment about standing water after it rains. I can see how low spots can be a problem.

Warning: From Hillcrest Park to Greenville it is wide then narrows south of Greenville. It's adequate for single riders with light traffic.

Regarding safety: I did not see police. That said, there's enough traffic that I always felt safe. Also, there are multiple 911 trail location signs if you need to make an emergency call.

SoPac Trail

Great trail

November, 2022 by stewxl

One of the better mostly flat trail that cuts thru the middle of north dallas and connects to Flag Pole, Ridgewood, White Rock and Sante Fe Trails. Usually see patrol riding and walking around. Could use a cleaning at times due to debris from the trees mud etc. also wish walkers/joggers would stop hogging the trail and stay to the right so cyclists could have room to pass as well as inconsiderate dog owners with their dogs on long leashes realize its a mixed use trail and to stop letting their dogs crap on the trail and not cleanup afterwards.

White Rock Lake Park Loop Trail

hit and miss

September, 2022 by stewxl

This trail is 50/50 due to the one side where you can come off of the SoPac to Lawther is ok. Dont mind cars as im sure they’re aware of cyclist in the area. But the side of the trail that parallels with buckingham/Garland Rd is the worst as you get people who decide to run on the opposite flow of traffic horrible terrain and always seems to be far too crowded to get a decent ride in

Turtle Creek Trail (TX)

Nice parts but overall gross

August, 2022 by turner.dena

There are some nice parts, especially by the Turtle Creek Conservatory Area. But there is a lot of homeless camped under the tunnels which is scary. There is also a ton of trash- we saw a page of a porn magazine and a condom. Ended up just walking on the sidewalk for most of it.
