They have built a very nice bike path that connects the middle and the southern sections along Bailey Cove Road. There are also lights at the crosswalks. Thanks!!
The majority of this trail was extremely disappointing. I think TrailLink needs to go back and reevaluate a large section of this trail. A narrow sidewalk that runs along a busy street, for several miles, does not constitute a bike or walking path. Mallard Point was beautiful in mid April. That said, the large waterpark was not open. I would not come here during the summer because it’s probably total chaos. The large parking lots have the clear signs no RVs and no campers allowed.
I started at the south trailhead and did an out and back for a total of 22 miles. The southern half of the trail is definitely in better condition, but my gravel bike did fine on everything. Rapeseed was blooming,as were the red buckeyes. saw several other cyclist and two groups on horseback. Wonderful to see people out on such a beautiful day.
well maintained trail, wide enough to accommodate walkers, skaters, cyclists, etc. with minimal, if any, inconvenience. No cross streets, though bridge interchanges require slowing down. Some narrow & blind spots, esp around RR underpass. Heat was not an issue, but probably more sun than shade overall, though not extreme. Light traffic on a midday Friday.
Aldridge Creek runs straight and shallow, not terribly scenic; extent of wildlife observed were a few aquatic fowl
Good trail to ride shaded and lots of nature this trail is gravel. We will definitely do this one again
The north end has a historic b&b. Elkmont in 1/2 way with nice places and a nice side ride through pre civil war houses. Packed gravel. Could use some smoothing but we did 21 mile out and back on ebikes with no problem. All shady
Camping at Cathedral Caverns with our Grands, loaded up our bikes and all went for ride on this trail, this is a very nice trail, it may only be 1.8 miles but it’s very scenic, two nice bridges crossing the Flint River.
Rougher on the Elkmont to Tn line but still nice. The other side was really good with slight elevation.
Just finished riding the whole trail. It’s 8 feet wide and paved, really new pavement. Yes some hills but it’s one of the smoothest trails we have been on. Some of the side loops are narrow and concrete and with springers on you get a refreshing wash. Very little traffic and no water or rest rooms available.
Rode bikes on this trial on a great sunny spring day. Beautiful scenery most of the way. New business and home construction near the end, but over all a great trail. Glad we took time to stop and use this trail.
1st road trip with our electric bikes. This trail was an awesome place to ride with no cross roads. Lots of people using the trail. Not even close to being overcrowded. Highly recommend the trail.
