Riverfront Heritage Trail

awesomely terrible

November, 2023 by ydm7k9qxyt

If you start where the north east end of the trail is at ballys casino you will find A wide concrete trail with signage and benches. However, 1/10 of a mile end of the trail it’s all blocked off for construction of a stadium and a motel no way around. Back to the vehicle load up the bike and go to the next place you can get on. Ride for 1/4 mile stop for six flights of stairs. Fortunately, there is an elevator for bikers. However, at the top of the elevator, you’re right across a wooden bridge and it dumps you into a commercial industrial area With no signage or sign of a trail. This trail could be awesome but as it is, it sucks. that is totally lacking in a trail and any signage. I rode around for a half an hour in the industrial area, trying to find any sign of the trail. Finally, I gave up and turned around and wrote back. This trailer could be awesome

Prairie Creek Greenway

Good trail - loop now complete

November, 2023 by ddyjrl

We enjoyed our first ride on this trail. Not a lot of people and went through pretty scenery. We went on the south route from the trailhead which was a slight climb and then north by road and found trail coming back though this app doesn’t show the connection. The north route is fairly hilly.

Line Creek Trail

Love the trail But there are alot of bikers then walkers. The bikers tend to ride by you really fast so stay alert and listen to your surroundings. Wish they had there own lane.

Line Creek Trail

Rode from the south at the Argosy casino to the Costco on 152 highway. Very nice. Riverside area was a bit sketchy but not that bad.

We started at Kaw point Park at the confluence of the Kaw and Missouri River. We rode across the Missouri River and rode downtown KC. Farmers market and Cliff drive. We did 25 miles total. Great urban and industrial areas to use as trail.

OK trail

September, 2022 by dan.allen.50552

If your headed to Weston, this is a nice side trail or Weston Bend State Park.Paved, gravel combination with ruts. The trailhead in Weston is hard to find, very poorly marked, word to the wise.

Great trail! Easy! Lots of shade! Wildlife to see. Streams and waterfall to relax by.

Jumping Branch Trail

This trail spurs off of Line Creek trail and is sonic with park benches but very short. At 50th you can go into the neighborhood and finish the route.

Line Creek Trail

Best trail surface ever, needs signage (-1 star)

March, 2022 by cewittkowske

The Line Creek has probably the best trail surface we've ever been on. Very nice ride which has curves, some hills and great scenery. This is a multiuse trail for pedestrians, bicycles and cars for a short section. It travels through mostly wooded sections which offers some shade as well as a wind block on those windy days.
The lack of trail signage was an issue and there were a couple of times that required using a GPS to find reconnect points. There are a few small businesses and also the Argosy Casino that could really benefit if they helped mark and promote the trail! We'll probably come back during our next road trip on the I-35.

Riverfront Heritage Trail

Which Way?

March, 2022 by cewittkowske

We started at the Berkley Riverfront Park because there is construction at Bally's KC Casino. Very nice trail with great features such as the elevator and wooden bridge. After this point the trail was very difficult to navigate which proceeded on rough broken pavement through a heavy industrial area. There were several construction projects going on (bridges) leaving road debris.
This trail needs signage and the unfamiliar rider should not need to rely upon GPS. A good surface cleaning would also help.
