A great bike path to ride and enjoy the outdoors. A great place that is a two car wide paved path with absolutely no cars to worry about. Nice facilities along the way and friendly people. This would be a great place for a family or group ride.
I live near this trail and bike ride daily. I drive past this trail to the VA trail, as this trail is is in horrible disrepair! Camden County could spend a few dollars to fix it, but seem to think its not worth it! Drive another 8 miles north to the Virginia Dismal Swamp Canal Trail!
A little bumpy at times from tree roots. There is a 3 mile section that has been recently repaved.
I personally love running on the boardwalk and enjoying the views of the beautiful hotels and amazing ocean. Not to mention the smell of the salt in the air. I always feel safe while down there. Sunrises are special and then you can easily walk or Drive to a local coffee shop afterwards.
The Dam Neck Trail (an actual trail, not a sidewalk) has sadly not been maintained and is interrupted by tree roots that push the asphalt up as high as ten inches. My city's cycling infrastructure is embarrassing.
The Lynnhaven Parkway "Trail" is an uneven sidewalk beside Lynnhaven Parkway, not a trail. My city's cycling infrastructure is embarrassing.
An ideal picturesque walk for those needing a smooth surface and benches. Docks and water on one side and beautiful large houses with manicured lawns on the other.
There’s no trail, the crosswalk infrastructure is minimal and the buttons to cross don’t work
The sidewalks were in disrepair, the trees were hanging too low, the traffic was unbelievable and heavy. Not one cross walk signal worked. We felt in danger most of the ride! This was a one and done for us! Prefer the Beach Boardwalk area a million percent over this madness!
This is a nice wide trail, many shady lengths. Plus it connects to General Booth and boardwalk if you want a longer ride. Yes you have to cross the Atlantic and Pacific to get to boardwalk but that did not dampen our enjoyment.
we brought our tandem to VA Beach as we do for all of our beach house family vacations. we have been disappointed in VA Beach-area cycling in general and this trail in particular. there was only a mile or so of recognizable "trail." the description says it runs parallel to the road and that is apparently because it's a sidewalk; and a narrow sidewalk at that. there was a good bridge connection to the boardwalk trail which was THE highlight.
