West White Oak Bayou Trail

Excellent Ride! 7am-12

April, 2021 by jared.waller

This is a great ride. I parked at TC Jester Park and headed toward downtown. Somewhere I connected with the Buffalo Bayou Trail and road until the trial ended (approx 17 miles). I ended up getting lost on the way back and ended my ride with about 50 total miles. After reading reviews, I was concerned about safety, but I found the trial safe. Some homeless under overpasses, some glass on trail. Just be aware. The only reason I gave the trail four stars is because signs are not marked well and it’s easy to get lost if you’re not paying attention

Buffalo Bayou Trail

Great trail

April, 2021 by aqah

It’s a great ride into Brady’s landing and you can connect to the U of H trail and white oak trail, then jump off and ride through the heights. It’s great, especially when we get a warmer day in December. We ride through the heights and look at Christmas decoration. Even without lights there’s a lot to look at and some great restaurants.

Very good trail, you can start at beltway 8 and bike pretty far. There are many paths for all types of riders.

Terry Hershey Park Hike & Bike Trail

Speed trap on Terry Hershey/George Bush

January, 2021 by beeshi76

The entire trail has been rendered worthless as a meaningful bike trail. Today I was clocked and then stopped by a Constable for exceeding 10mph on my bicycle beside the dam. Just to make it clear, you cant push the pedals and stay below 10mph. If thats the park rule, then fine, just quit calling it a bike trail.

George Bush Park Hike and Bike Trail

out and back 30 to 45 miles

December, 2020 by roalmann

I start on Cinco Ranch Blvd. where it crosses Buffalo Bayou and ride to Hwy 6 where it connects to the Terry Hershey trail for a 30 mile out and back ride. I can extend to approximately 45 miles if I ride on Terry Hershey to the Beltway. Very nice trail ride. I only have to cross a few streets.

Columbia Tap Rail-Trail

Columbia Tap: Okay

December, 2020 by corrigan.r

People were getting mugged on this route a few years ago, so I would advise traversing in groups, as it's still dicey, in my humble. Lots of trash, broken glass, and there's a stretch through the ward where there's a stop sign every 50 yards or so at every street crossing. It's a shortcut to downtown, but not my fave trail.

George Bush Park Hike and Bike Trail

Great trail, but underwater today.

December, 2020 by kazang1234

If you’re headed to the park today be wary. There are areas that are still under water from the heavy rains this past weekend.

It’s a great trail and best part it connects with another trail which makes it even better for longer bike rides

West White Oak Bayou Trail

No Connector at Stude Park

November, 2020 by mbrand_tl

There was no connector at the Studemont/Stude Park location coming from Buffalo Bayou Greenway Trail downtown. I was disappointed as I had ome from Spring TX to make a 17 mile ride. I had planned on beginning my ride on the Buffalo Bayou Trail and move to the White Oaks Bayou route. Also at Stude Park there was a split with one of the paths appearing to continue on the long route but it was a hard dead end at the bottom of a hill. Otherwise the trail from Stude Park into downtown was a very pleasant experience. That path is in good condition but can become crowded with pedestrians at times

Columbia Tap Rail-Trail

Issues

October, 2020 by jonvink

This trail has issues ... as noted in the reviews here. My issue was a dog running free and the owner not caring. It’s too bad because this would be a great little cut theough from Brays Bayou to downtown.

Sims Bayou Greenway

Nice Ride

October, 2020 by victoriarenee1

This ride was a great start to my day. Not too challenging but def has some moments where you have to push. Beautiful scenery. Didn’t like that it was so close to so many plants (and a waste site) but it was still a great ride, nonetheless. From the start of the trail to the feeder it was about 3.3 miles and so from Milby park back you’re looking at about 6 and a half miles. I ended up going down to the feeder and then back a bit and up Arizona and back around to add a few miles. All in all, locked in approx 8 miles. My goal was 10 but I’ll make up for it on the next ride.

MKT/SP Rails to Trails (Heights Hike and Bike Trail)

Nice, Easy Ride

October, 2020 by victoriarenee1

Loved this trail. First ride in YEARS. Did a about 7.3 miles. Through the Heights. Loved looking at all of the beautiful homes. The bridge is temporarily shut down. FYI.
