Townsend Historical Trail

Nice trail that you can easily add on to

September, 2023 by mailtobark

Nice trail through Townsend area. Paved, some ups and downs but no hard climbs. Not a whole lot to see really. Restaurant near north end has good food. You can take the bike underpass at the north end, cross under the four lane and then cross the small river and pick up the road on the left along the river. Take that through Walland all the way to the intersection with Ellejoy road. This is a nice ride along the river with minimal traffic and only one hill at Walland. There is a parking lot just across the intersection on Ellejoy road. I ve parked there, pedaled to the end of the trail in Townsend and back.

Doodle Rail Trail

great trail

Decently maintained. Gorgeous views. There’s a spot with some art work painted on the ground (near the cemetery). Both trailheads have bathrooms and a park. Few bumpy areas where ya definitely want two hands on the “wheel.”

Nice Trail

9 miles out and back. If you do the circle at the end, you can get to 10. Mostly paved with some gravel/dirt sections. But beware! Several areas where it looks like it might be easier but you end up in a parking lot or dead end and have to go back.

Doodle Rail Trail

Well maintained & simple rail trail

August, 2023 by m.p.schneider.lc

A pretty straightforward rail trail that is paved, is kept up so there are no unpleasant bumps, and has parking at either end.

Much of it is well-shaded, and the scenery is nice.

It has more road crossings than some others, but there is likely no way to change that. Also 8 miles is not super long compared to some others.

I drove a little out of my way driving from Charlotte to Atlanta & may make the same stop in the future as I drive that regularly.

Estatoe Trail

pleasant ride

This is a relatively easy out and back totaling about 10 miles. I started on the south end and parked in the church parking lot just across the street from the trail head. Trailhead marked with signs and easy to find. There are a couple of hazardous street crossings. Even when using the pedestrian crossing buttons be very alert and cautious because the A-holes there either are not aware that turning vehicles are supposed to yield to pedestrians or they don’t cate.Do not attempt this ride on a road bike. The last 2 miles are on gravel and dirt trails.ordon’tthatca

Nantahala Bikeway

green and serene!

July, 2023 by vkgtpfzrgr

mellow, beautifully paved and short trail perfect after a long drive on winding roads. Good place to watch the ww rafters start their adventure. Next time, we plan to join!

Oklawaha Greenway

excellent ride

I have not written a mountain bike in well over 20 years, and I wanted to start riding again because it’s less traumatic on my knees. Came out to give this trail a check today, and I have to say it is fantastic! A few Hills that’ll make you work a little bit, but a lot of it is flat with excellent scenery, all in all a very nice ride!!

Loved it

Great ride. Very well maintained trail. Beautiful scenery. There were a couple shady areas that I rode through and felt a little on edge. But could just be me!

Riverwalk Greenway (Pigeon Forge)

Nice Trail

Nice trail in the middle of Pigeon Forge. We like to park and start at the library. Most people don’t even know it’s there so it’s seldom crowded. Some congestion wit tourist and cars around The Island but that’s about it. I definitely recommend it for a Nice break from the hustle and bustle of Sevier County

Little Tennessee River Greenway (Franklin)

Worst bicycle trail we have ridden on. Partly paved then turned into gravel then into dirt. Trail is not marked and several times we went the wrong way and had to turn around. When we reached the end we had no idea which way to go, NO SIGNS

Hard to call this a bike trail, more like a glorified sidewalk with lots of busy road crossings. Possibly the worst bike trail I’ve ever been on and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Fun ride in the middle of Pigeon Forge. Lots of walkers but really fun. Bring your bicycle with you while on vacation and enjoy
