Wehrspann Lake Trail

Amazing Path

October, 2023 by hkhumphress

We are visiting from Ohio and found this path around the lake. It is awesome! We are participating in a health challenge and the 6.5 miles was terrific! It is an overcast and cool day; it may be hot if the sun is out and it is mid-summer. Fantastic for us though!

Great Trail

September, 2023 by shap

Wow! This is a trail worth ridding. We started out in Carroll and rode up and back to Breda, then down and around Swan Lake state park. The next day we went from Lake View to Breda and back. The trail is all concrete, they have replaced all the sections that were asphalt. We had a great time.

Wabash Trace Nature Trail

Great trail, but soft after a rain

August, 2023 by mrmikesch

Camped in our motorhome at Boehner Park, campground in Malvern. Only 100 yards from the campground to the trail. Day number one we rode north from Malverne to Silver city. 16 miles round-trip. Day number two, we rode Malverne to Shenandoah. 48 miles round-trip. Majority of the sections we rode were tree covered. Great for the shade, but the trail was soft and rotted, as it had rained two days earlier.

There is a detour but you have to cross Dodge Street. Just wanted to share this info with riders. It closed now and will be for 5 months in this section. https://omaha.com/news/local/omaha-to-close-portion-of-keystone-trail-for-5-months/article_07b99bce-3852-11ee-bb43-3bcb2f7635e1.html

144th Street Trail

Too many major streets to cross

August, 2023 by gustaff1142

This is not my idea of a fun bike trail. Lots of street traffic. You have to cross just about every major east-west street in Omaha.

Sorensen Parkway Trail

Not a bike trail. Mostly pedestrian sidewalk.

July, 2023 by jreitman28

Do not attempt to ride on the sidewalk as much of it is in disrepair. This should not be listed as a trail.

Standing Bear Lake and Recreation Area Trail

Good for biking/walking. As of July 2023 the lake is drained, floating bridge is closed and part of the trail is under construction. It is still possible to make a full loop including the floating bridge if you ignore signs and go around closed fence

Great Example of Volunteer Trail

July, 2023 by trob4cy

This trail is a great example of what a group of volunteers can do. If you go to use this trail please support the trail by buying a pass or making a donation. The trail is not supported or maintained by a government entity or tax dollars.

Most of the trail is in very good condition. You may find some of the southern portions not as well traveled but still easily passable.

MoPac Trail (Springfield)

MoPac - Springfield to South Bend

July, 2023 by mutualmick

We read reviews from this trail that said fresh gravel, poop on the trail, poorly maintained, bridge not open -- but they were all old reviews so we took a chance. It is a beautiful trail, well maintained with no poop and the bridge over the South Platt River is excellent and open. This is a trail worth going to and there is very little traffic. Weather was great! Just do it!

Skyline Trail (NE)

Fun little trail

May, 2023 by ftsfy2f4ff

If you live anywhere near this trail and are looking for a quick 30-60 min ride- this is a great little trail. It’s paved the entire way - less a few transitions here and there- and is a very smooth ride start to finish. Plenty of shade for the bulk of the ride as well. Nothing too fancy, but if you have a limited amount of time and just need to go blow off a little bit of steam, this is perfect!

Great American Rail-Trail

Great Allegheny Trail southeast of Pittsburgh?

April, 2023 by eshawger

Surprised to see this amazing trail that has great bed and breakfasts along it is not noted as part of the Great American Rail Trail. It sure would help demonstrate more GART completion if it was.
