We did all 9 miles and it was amazing. Lots of hills and even the south river bridge, would recommend this trail if you are looking for something challenging
We did from a highway to east end road and barely needed to stop, not a lot of turns and not a lot of hills, definitely would do the rest when paved
It may not be long but it's a nice challenge and not crowded with lots of ops to stop and enjoy lunch or grab a beer.
My husband and I walk/run the first part of the trail (from start to the TC mall) 3-4 times per week. Its so beautiful and peaceful. We've met so many "friends" whom we love to say "good morning" to and who brighten our day, everyday.
We rode from the Grady road trailhead to mm 19 and back. It was a 51 Mike round trip ride. The area is gorgeous and we were blessed with the fall colors! The trail is wide and smooth. The area between Cedartown and Rockmart is hilly, the rest is relatively flat. There is a section where the trail is near the highway, but other than that it’s in the woods or through cute little towns.
My wife and I made a trip to Hiram for her birthday and road about 20 miles the first day then the 2nd day drove to Rockmart and rode about another 15 miles. We were very happy with this beautiful trail. It was very peaceful and very cool as we rode through Rockmart then on to the tunnel and back. Loved it and will be back.
Ride this trail today (East side) from Mansfield to the bridge. Nicely paved all the way, well shaded and beautiful scenery. Very slight fade in places but nothing steep. Talked with a volunteer who said the closed bridge section will hopefully be open in late 2024.
Super easy ride for beginners and/or family ride. Highly recommend
Shaded walk. Older walking trail with bikers, runners, walkers, squirrels and deer along the path. Good first walking path for us in Gwinnett County.
Maps of trail are available for purchase in stores and at library, helpful for sure.
Good parking at Vaughters TH. Trail is wide, not to much traffic, plenty of shade and has several ups and downs. Will definitely be back to check out the spur trails.
