Rode May 4 & 5th, 2023. A fabulous trail! So well maintained! Surrounded by trees on most of the trail. First 20 to 30 miles from Smyrna are probably the easiest.
This is a really nice trail that runs beside the Chattahoochee river. Beautiful areas and we saw multiple deer feeding in the woods along our walk. This is a very popular trail though. It is recommended that you donate to the trail at the trailhead they have digital method available which was convenient. This biggest issue is getting a parking space. I have never been to this trail where the it is not packed.
Some one needs to EMPTY the trash cans on this trail especially pass the community center and basketball court……. I’ve rode this trail for months now and I see the same trash can below the bridge tunnel flowing over with all sorts of crap including tampons!!!!! And in hot days you can barely ride pass it without the smell knocking you clean OUT……. PLEASE empty ALL TRASH CANS on the trail ! Other than the trash cans I do enjoy camping he trail .
Wow! No clue why this trail has no reviews. It is a special hidden gem with lots of steep grades that run along the water. There are several bridges as well.I rode an electric scooter.
Beautiful but there’s WAY too many people. Great for runners.
Had a great ride today. However the crosswalk at the Union Hill intersection is very dangerous. In spite of the fact there are numerous signs alerting cars of the crosswalk including flashing signals, we witnessed numerous cars flying through the intersection oblivious to the fact we were waiting to cross. Do not assume the drivers will stop.
Lots of stretches riding alongside traffic in addition to on-street riding. No bike lanes through neighborhoods. Poorly marked route. Can’t recommend this route; too many better alternatives.
Really love how this greenbelt is integrated in to so much of the town. This is the first time I noticed they had the Tanner Spur which is a 1 mile spur from the south side of the greenbelt to the downtown area. I could see if I lived in this town I would be able to use the greenbelt as a transportation option to go grocery shopping, out to eat, etc.
Nice trail for a quick family walk but too short for much more than a stroll.
Small parking lot on each end. Lovely wide, paved sidewalks. Great path for young bikers. More things added each time we go, swings, benches, etc. Beautiful bridge over the creek and nice art installations. Very quiet. Almost too empty to feel safe. Very few people mid day.
Love a long trail in the woods . Only 2 road crossings. Clean and well kept. Lucky to have so many nice connected trails in this area.
