Love a long trail in the woods . Only 2 road crossings. Clean and well kept. Lucky to have so many nice connected trails in this area.
I sometimes take a walk/jog on this trail from the library near the mall to Vaughters farm and back. You may recognize the barn from the HBO series "The Outsider" by Stephen King.
We picked up the trail in Mansfield and headed north, to the Alcovy River. I love this old trestle and can't wait to see it opened!! Perfect trail! It was great to see folks using it during our ride! There were other cyclists, walkers and joggers, all enjoying themselves! Thanks for maintaining this awesome addition to our community!
Rode this and other sections this morning. I would recommend a gravel bike to have the most fun. Semi slicks work really good.
Short trail, fully paved, and well shaded. The main problem I had was it was a one way trail. There are parking lots at either end but no way to connect and not a fast way back to the other one. I take some points off from that because if you didn’t know you would end up 2 miles away from your car.
I just started walking this with my bf and my dog Before you know it, we went 3 miles! I will walk it again very soon. Cant wait until spring when it blooms!
I rode this trail for the first, but not last time today. It was a great ride, through hardwood forests, with deer and wild turkeys. I rode from Beaver Park in Mansfield which is 8 miles to the end at the river. There is parking at the park and a port-a-potty.
NOT FLAT! There are a lot of hills with, in my opinion, and equal amount of challenge and enjoyable. I have spent two different days on this trail and did slightly different paths. I did 20 miles the one day and 21 a few days later. What I like about it is in some ways if feels like a mountain bike trail without the rocks and roots. You get nature in the woods but you also get open fields. This will be my go to trail when I come to Atlanta.
Neat trail but as of September 30th 2022 most of it East beyond Metropolitan is unpaved rocky terrain.
