Little Sugar Creek Greenway

extension

March, 2024 by m.september1971

The new extension on the south end of Charlotte is very enjoyable to ride

Little Sugar Creek Greenway

trail information not current.

March, 2024 by raven3

Going south, the map stops at Rt 485, however the trail does continues south into Pineville and beyond. There are areas further north that utilize city streets in upscale neighborhoods due to construction as part of hospital construction project. The trail is terrific just need to update the map.

Buffalo Creek Preserve Trail

Not Kid Friendly

February, 2024 by britneelong06

It definitely is not kid friendly. There are too many roots, holes, and giant rocks to use a stroller and my 5 year old kept tripping over it all we didn’t make it a very far before we had to turn around. We will come back just not with the little ones.

This was a good run. The trail is mostly flat. It's measured out and it's accurate. I really enjoyed this route and plan to revisit.

Peak to Prosperity Passage (Palmetto Trail)

clean, easy trail

January, 2024 by bransom49

Rucked it up and back yesterday, full trail. Super clean, easy trail. No incline. Minimal views, good for getting in your miles. Rocks were a pain in the a**. Definitely need some trail friendly shoes. Feet got beat up pretty good. Some campsites along small streams. 6/10. Good for getting time on feet. Won’t be back except for straight forward mileage. Bikes would be solid for stacking miles on a simple trail.

Peak to Prosperity Passage (Palmetto Trail)

not meant for running

December, 2023 by amaybach

Just want to let runners know this trail has a very irregular surface with rocks and grassy patches. I don’t recommend it for running.

Peak to Prosperity Passage (Palmetto Trail)

Perfect Gravel Bike Trail Training Ride

December, 2023 by rwest3

I regularly ride the Trail for training. Once you clear the walkers at the trailheads you can complete efforts with no stops. Several sections have big, loose rock so you’ll want to let some air out.

Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways

Pleasant park connector in Charlotte

September, 2023 by laurastark

We had a nice time on the Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways. There was interesting public art, the tracts of a defunct railroad, city skyline views, and wooded sections.

Little Sugar Creek Greenway

Recreational gem connecting Charlotte and the city's southern suburbs

September, 2023 by laurastark

We found the Little Sugar Creek Greenway to be a smooth, well-maintained paved pathway connecting numerous parks. We had a great experience on this trail! There is something for everyone; the northern urban section is fun and vibrant with shops and restaurants nearby, while the southern portion offers a tranquil wooded route, where we saw six deer!

Lower McAlpine Creek, McMullen Creek & Four Mile Creek Greenways

Cyclists beware!

September, 2023 by shtrahan03

The boardwalks are very slippery for cyclists. I lost control of my bike in 2022 and while I was down, another cyclist did the same thing and nearly landed on top of me. A torn rotator cuff, surgery, and 7 months of rehab later, I will not be cycling on this greenway again. I do love the shade in the summer though!

McAlpine Creek Greenway

very nice trail

September, 2023 by d7i2idczkm

Well maintained and is used a lot. Never find yourself alone on this trail.
