It's so bumpy and jarring you cannot get a rhythm. Do not recommend
Trail starts at the nearby school, has a park with swings for kids at the trail head. Paved, nicely maintained.
Rode this trail yesterday during a gorgeous spring day. The trail is mixed surface from packed sand, to loose sand, some asphalt, gravel and roots. It is not a wide path. Narrow in places. Does cross over a train track which was fun to watch. I can’t say I would recommend this for a bike ride - I found myself going on the road in areas - but it would be lovely for walkers & runners. Safe area. Loved the historic area!
Actually 3.5 miles finished. Working on the last .5 mile. Will be a 4 mile loop around the city. Nice paved trail.
We love this trail. Sometimes bikers don’t use proper etiquette when passing families with small children; however, it’s a great trail for families. Watch out for baby brown snakes. They come up every once in a while, typically after a storm.
Not so much this trail but all the others that attach to this one. Many spots with 4" of sand. Walking would be great. Bikes with narrow tires forget it. I have 3"tires and I fish tailed all over. Nice place and very clean. Restrooms were clean.
Beautiful paved trail, nicely maintained, especially at the western end. Nice bridges and scenery through the swamps. Nice view of High Point University at the Western end, even with the security fences on all sides.
Just rode the whole trail. Trail is fully paved, goes through some really pretty wooded areas. It’s hilly, and the pavement is full of bumps caused by tree roots. Fine for casual bikers, not great for high-speed road bikers. There is a stairway towards the southern end that does accommodate bikes. But it’s nicely done and well maintained.
Nice trail with more than 4 miles if you include gravel/dirt surface trails that wind through some pretty woods. Can be busy on the weekends especially on the paved portion of the trail.
The finished parts are lovely and shaded. There are many segments in busy roads with no bike lanes or sidewalks.
This is a great greenway that we have found as an alternative to mountain biking in inclement weather, but do beware that it does flood leaving you meandering through thick soupy mud. We access from the Kirk Farm Field lot and head West. Look out for signs for the true Mallard Creek connection which will be on your left. I believe Toby Creek is first (on the left as well if you’re heading in from Kirk), then Mallard. I really wish they would just show them all on the map together. If you continue straight without turning you will simply do the Clark’s Greenway section which is easily added on for more mileage. All three greenways together will yield approximately 21 miles.
