Delcastle Recreational Park Walking Trail

Delcastle

April, 2021 by gdfr5r5jmn

Paved circular path around sports complex and nice playground with exercise equipment along path. Fairly busy area for recreational walkers. Not particularly scenic but a nice county park.

Northern Delaware Greenway Trail

Very steep - like a mountain face from Blue Ball Barn to Brandywine Creek

February, 2021 by captinbandwagon

Started at Blue Ball Barn and rode to Brandywine Creek, its the steepest paved trail I have ever been on with wicked swichbacks and places you had to get off thb bike going downhill. Very thick woods and quiet for an urban area. If I did that section again it would be without bikes.

Jack A. Markell Trail

Walked today-8.3 miles total. Loved it. Will be bank.

Redden State Forest Headquarters Loop Trail

Beware - No trail markings!

January, 2021 by msscottwg

While scenic, this trail is not marked at all. Even while on the outside trail loop, it was difficult to tell which direction to go at major trail intersections. Trail markings are essential to communicate where a hiker is currently, and where you need to go next. If you don't have WiFi, you can't count on referencing GPS or TrailLinks online map--which can be downright unsafe if you're a novice hiker or have young children.

Gordons Pond Trail

Great ride!

January, 2021 by david.morrison_tl

Well-maintained. Things to do along the way, if you choose. Herons everywhere for bird-lovers. Great panoramic view from Lewes to Rehoboth. Highly recommend.

Prickly Pear Trail

Family friendly trail

December, 2020 by qaix3sm8vw

Visited at the end of December and it was a great trail to do with kids ages 11, 8, and 5. Plenty to explore and nicely maintained, flat trail. Plenty of trees offer some protection from the wind.

New Castle Battery Park Trail

Pretty & Functional!

December, 2020 by aaronjeffery211

I live super close to Battery Park and can actually access this park and it's subsequent trail through the Jack A. Markell trail, which is also very nice(10/10 recommend). But this trail offers great views, especially during sunrise and sunset. Never too crowded, lined with some trees along with labels on a few of them for their biological information to keep things interesting, and close enough to some shores of sand to collect shells, rocks, etc!

PennDel Trail

Nice easy trail run

November, 2020 by frank.maslanka

Generally flat, gravel/small rock trail along the creek. Enjoyable trail run for all seasons.

Prickly Pear Trail

Fresh Pond DE State Park prickly pear

November, 2020 by kferrusi

Well kept, wide trail on level ground; it was a great walk. Some bike riders went by with plenty of room to spare. The air smelled fresh and clean. We walked all of the trails in the park in one outing. We will return in all seasons. And it was quiet. We could hear Rte 1 from time to time; but it was not intrusive.
