… between Wieuca and Loridans roads. Note that the extension starts west of Ga 400, making it necessary to cross the bridge over 400 from the previous end east of 400. Well-shaded route through a valley to cross under 400 and a creek en route to Loridans. Still no markers to navigate through the Tower Place area between Peachtree & Lenox roads. Walked starting from the Gwinnett environmental and heritage center, but couldn’t get to other end of Greenway as planned because they are currently rebuilding a bridge where the trail turns to go toward the Mall of GA. Instead, did the stretch down to the suspension bridge plus the Wildlife Observation Loop Trail and still achieved 4.6 miles. Not sure when the new bridge will open but looks like they are making good progress.
Wonderful trail. Not real busy. Enjoyed the birds and frog sounds along the walk. Very relaxing.
We were looking forward to this ride a long time as reviews rate it highly. For us it was quite the opposite. The trail did have its moments and from the start looked very promising, however those moments were short and far in between. The first of the issues were the trail closures with no notice at trail heads or reroutes. You merely run into a blockage where your only option is to turn around load up your bikes, go a couple of miles to the next bike parking, unload, ride a couple of miles and hit another trail block. Second issue, the trail is poorly marked. We literally spent more time trying to find our way through Chattanooga than riding our bikes. Trail Link helped but what a mess. I can’t imagine riding this trail in peak season as it was, our ride early Feb, 50 deg late morning saw many pedestrian obstacles. Chattanooga is a busy place, a nice city to be sure along with that comes constant traffic noise.
Wonderful trail from Bethelview to Haycon. 7 miles one way 1.5 hours Had lunch in lovely Haycon center and back. So 15 miles total
This trail covers City and wooded areas. Starting in Alpharetta is good. Great boardwalks, shaded scenery. Great Day Ride! Saw some Dear and other wildlife.
Could stand to be more bike and pedestrian friendly in that it really needs some safety barriers between cars traveling on Barrett and the trail users! Also could use lights or reflective strips at a minimum. Needs cleanup too. Could be better! Do not recommend at dusk or later as there is no path visibility
Beautiful trail, going to do the Ladiga trail next!, warm this time of year, bring enough water!
This has to be one of my favorites. Lots of restrooms, smooth, well used trail, felt very safe.
It is the best trail around Atlanta metro area. Full of nature.
This is a good trail with multiple starting points and parking. Connects to two parks so you will have to walk along the busy road.
