Big Creek Greenway

Big Creek Greenway - Roswell to Alpharetta

August, 2019 by guya

A very nice well maintained trail from Old Alabama Road to Marconi - approx 8 miles one way. The trail is nearly 100% in the woods along Big Creek. All concrete and nice width. We were riding on Sat 10 - 11:30 - there was fair amount of traffic, but not overly so. The trail crosses under all major roads / no at grade crossings.
The only negative is the signage is lacking / a little hard to tell what trail branches go to where. But, now that we have ridden the trail, we are more likely not to make the several wrong turns we made today.
I actually enjoyed this trail better than SC, only because it was less crowded.

Eastside Trail (Atlanta BeltLine)

excellent trail

Went for the first time today and was impressed. It was crowded with walkers. Bicycles, scooters, etc. but there was plenty of space for everyone.

Camp Creek Greenway

Great Ride

July, 2019 by rdhanson.atl

Google Maps directed me to this greenway when I was running (riding) an errand. I was using my rigid mountain bike with semi-slick tires (urban assault vehicle), which was perfect for this trail. It was 2 miles of peace and quiet on a 10 mile ride. Getting back on the road was a jolt. More please!

Allatoona Pass

Our family has walked a out half-way so far. We did this for something different. We plan to do the whole trail soon. my son and I will be taking a fishing pole next time.

Westside Trail (Atlanta Beltline)

Seemed dicey

June, 2019 by margie12

The trail head is in a run down neighborhood. I was afraid to leave my car there, so I turned around. Looking for a better spot to hop on the belt line.

Suwanee Creek Greenway

A great trail

June, 2019 by timmy0728

What an awesome trail. Entire trail either paved or boardwalk. Mostly shaded. Even on this hot day, 90, rather cool. Beautiful scenary. The creek/swamp could be a negative for some, but I enjoyed seeing the deer and ducks.
A couple hills, especially starting/finishing at the Suwannee parking lot. A good challenge.
Saw several couple bikers, runners and walkers.
One of the best suggestions I have found on Trail Link.
So once again, if in the area and want to get some miles in, make a point to stop here. You really should enjoy it.

Ivy Creek Greenway

Great Trail for the novice biker

May, 2019 by gbeg24

As a novice rider, this was a great trail for riding! The only real hill, other than the spur, is coming back up to the environmental center. Other than that the trail is mostly flat, made up of concrete, asphalt, and gravel/dirt, and runs along the creek. I would consider this a fairly easy ride.

Chief Ladiga Trail

chuck & karen

May, 2019 by chaspenny

On our 50th wedding anniversary trip from Michigan to Gulf Shores we stopped at Piedmont and rode the Chief Ladiga trail to the start of the Silver Comet. Beautiful sunny day and quite warm. The trail is definitely a slight easy uphill grade going east. The lack of any restroom facilities at the junction of Chief Ladiga and the Silver Comet trails was very disappointing as was the lack of places to stop and see the beauty that surrounds. There’s some rough spots caused by roots but not so bad as to cause a problem.

Suwanee Creek Greenway

I found this trail difficult because of the steep hills and sharp curves. I had to ride my brakes downhill many times to avoid a crash at the bottom. Instarted at the park at the south end and went 2 miles and turned back.

East Cobb Trail

East Cobb Concrete

March, 2019 by cleverations

It was a great day to be on a trail for a walk. The west end of this trail is at Manor Crest Court, not far from East Cobb Park. A paved but narrow sidewalk continues past that point going west. Heading east toward Roswell, the trail is a wide concrete path. The first significant point of interest is East Cobb Park where the trail crosses over Sewell Mill Creek. This is a nice park with ample parking. At this point there are trees on both sides of the road. The trail winds alongside Roswell Road going uphill toward Robinson Road where there begins to be businesses on both sides of the road and some intersections that require caution crossing. Traffic can be heavy and fast moving. Once past East Side Elementary school and Indian Hills Parkway, the trail is flat and easy. A stop at the small Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery is worthwhile to remember when this area was much different. A bike shop and several eating places are at this end of the trail which is at Seven Springs Circle, the eastern side of the Seven Springs subdivision. To this point, the distance is right at 1.5 miles, but the widened sidewalk continues on, allowing opportunities to follow either Roswell Road or Johnson Ferry. This is a short trail with a good bit of traffic and some tedious intersections, but a very worthwhile venue for some exercise. It is well marked and maintained except for a few small portions.

Silver Comet Trail

WELSHfest in Rockmart

March, 2019 by maplover2

As part of a local heritage festival (Welshfest mid March annually) we checked out fest, music, tearoom, vendors, and biked from Rockmart to Coots Lake and back. Quick 10 miles RT and scenic. Loved the babbling creek, slate yards, craggy walls, tunnels, lake and caves. Cool stretch of trail from the best trail town on the route. Trailhead is on town square which offers South Marble coffee shop, Solis sandwich shop, Spice Street Cafe, cupcakery, museums, shops, a Slate House, green space, park, and weekly farmers market. Heard an airbnb is brewing. Meanwhile camping & mini cabins available at the Rock campground.
