We walked on the Newbern side of this trail today it was very clean, quiet and peaceful. All while being shaded the whole time.
Easy walking trail and clearly marked....
I was looking for a relatively flat trail to condition on my road bike. This was a well-maintained, paved trail. Fun to ride, with ample straightaways to crank it up. There were quite a few people biking, blading, skating, running or just enjoying nature, but it was a pleasurable ride. Higher recommend jumping on a trailhead and checking it out.
The Greenway trails were a lot of fun both walking and cycling. There are many entry points and a surprisingly good mix of scenery. Definitely plan to visit it when ever in the area.
I ride this trail at least twice a week. I start on Floyd Rd. and my goal is to go to the end, Alabama line. The furthest I've gone is 15 miles out. I love this trail for bike riding.
My wife & I rode from Dallas west to the big tunnel & back. Fabulous 23 mile ride. Beautiful scenery, well kept, plenty wide enough to ride side by side. We can’t wait to explore the other parts of the trail in the future.
My husband and I had no idea how beautiful and well maintained this trail is. There were a couple of small detours that were well marked and easy to follow. A definite favorite.
We parked at MLK Jr. High School on a Sunday around noon, and after getting back to our car, the school had locked the entrance gates, preventing us from leaving the parking lot. Probably an accident, but keep this in mind when choosing where to park. Otherwise, it's a great trail!
As a long time resident, I have learned the best time to use the path is BEFORE school lets out and after a typical work rush hour. (Before 4:00 PM and after 6:00 PM weekdays) Reason? This is a golf cart community where many teens and adults use the path to commute. And unfortunately, they use it like the German Autobahn. Also, wear something bright, because the woods surrounding the path system are thick and there are some blind corners. Otherwise, HAVE FUN!
We love the path system for golf carting, walking, biking. The whole city is connected by these wonderful paths.
Great place for families!
Recently walked and biked along this beautiful paved path. It is very wide and allows walkers, bikes and families to easily navigate around each other without having to step to the side. There are benches, pet waste receptacles, & bike repair stations. One would almost never know they are not far from 2 major roadways and I believe it’s due to the lovely creek flowing beside the path. The only reason 4 stars instead of 5 is it need to be much longer!!
