Flint River Greenway (AL)

Great Little Trail

March, 2024 by garybrogers

Camping at Cathedral Caverns with our Grands, loaded up our bikes and all went for ride on this trail, this is a very nice trail, it may only be 1.8 miles but it’s very scenic, two nice bridges crossing the Flint River.

Richard Martin Trail

great trails!

Rougher on the Elkmont to Tn line but still nice. The other side was really good with slight elevation.

update on this trail

April, 2023 by chadley109_tl

Just finished riding the whole trail. It’s 8 feet wide and paved, really new pavement. Yes some hills but it’s one of the smoothest trails we have been on. Some of the side loops are narrow and concrete and with springers on you get a refreshing wash. Very little traffic and no water or rest rooms available.

Sunset Drive Trail

Nice trail along the lake

March, 2023 by paulfanfoot

Very nice trail along the lake. Easy to find and wide enough for bikes going both directions. Some goose poop to dodge, but other than that very nice scenery.

Indian Creek Greenway (AL)

Nice scenic trail

March, 2023 by paulfanfoot

Rode bikes on this trial on a great sunny spring day. Beautiful scenery most of the way. New business and home construction near the end, but over all a great trail. Glad we took time to stop and use this trail.

Aldridge Creek Greenway

Excellent Place to Ride

March, 2023 by paulfanfoot

1st road trip with our electric bikes. This trail was an awesome place to ride with no cross roads. Lots of people using the trail. Not even close to being overcrowded. Highly recommend the trail.

Richard Martin Trail

Great trail

I love this trail, me and friends have taken my horses here many times and it’s always been so nice, the trails are great for horses other than the few times you have to cross the roads.

Aldridge Creek Greenway

Nice Sunny Ride

September, 2022 by bagolightly

We parked at the Ditto Landing end. Parking shown on the trail map was actually an RV Park so we parked at the marina area on the side where the trail begins. Trail was well maintained - asphalt and concrete. The first part was shady while the other end was sunny. The trail followed a creek where ducks, geese, turtles and some friendly doggies were enjoying splashing around. We really like how the trail did not cross any busy roads but pigtailed around to go underneath them and over the creek. There are several benches along the way if you need a rest stop. We saw about a dozen bikers and walkers on the trail today. We will ride there again once cooler.

Nice Ride on a Hot Fall Day

September, 2022 by whit.w.5918_tl

Was passing through and decided to stop and ride North to South with an added lollipop head on the roads around Athens. Trail was great; I was dreading the heat (upper 80s) but the shade kept things nice and cool!! Surface was a bit rough in places, so not a road bike trail, but a hybrid, mountain bike or gravel bike (my choice) will work well.

Would love to see this trail extended, both south and north.

Nice trail with some decent uphill pulls!

Aldridge Creek Greenway

Best Greenway in Huntsville

August, 2022 by stuart.obermann

Aldridge creek greenway is one of the most popular in town and for good reason. It is the longest continuous path without having to ride on public roads - stretching about 7 miles from Ken Johnson Park on Mt Gap Road to the TN River at Ditto Landing. If you take the TN River Greenway to the marina at the east end, you get 7+ miles one way. Recent tree planting are starting to provide shade on those long stretches without shade. A great place for a walk, ride or run!

Decatur Trail

confusing and disappointing

July, 2022 by pmbishop55

trail markings are somewhat confusing to follow as well as riding with traffic and crossing a few major intersections. The positive part of the ride, once closer to mallard park, the ride was nice.
