I have lived on Lookout Mountain my entire life and can guarantee that you will not spot bighorn sheep. That made me laugh!

Chattanooga Riverwalk (Tennessee Riverpark)

great ride

October, 2018 by lambertkayla2015

Great ride, needs better signs. Great playgrounds piers and many public restrooms along the way. Started at Chickamauga dam to wheland foundry around 13 miles. Around downtown/ross’s landing confusing and busy but past that theres not many ppl and signs seem some better. Well worth the effort, will do again.

Aldridge Creek Greenway

Nice scenery

Not as much shade as other Greenways , still a great experience! Best in Early spring and Fall. I don't mind hot weather, but some don't. Enjoy!

Chattanooga Riverwalk (Tennessee Riverpark)

wonderful time and scenic views

July, 2018 by ejthfcc

I tried the trail from both ends. The Dam side offers some superb views of the river and the marsh area and quite a number of wildlife along the way. The downtown side offered a great view of the historic and industrial era of the city and a number of good views of the city riverfront and opportunities to digress up to the Aquarium and downtown. The center of the trail is a bit confusing. I needed to ask several folk how to stay on trail, especially around the Hunter museum. Signage needs improved there and at other points where the trail options point in multiple directions.

Mountain Goat Trail

Go for the Goat, see the Tigers

July, 2018 by koldtoess

Great short trail between Chattanooga and Nashville. We parked across from the DG in Monteagle. The first section is a bit “zig-zaggy” but the remaining section is very nicely shaded. At the Sewanee trailhead, we crossed the highway and spent some time/miles exploring the majestic University of the South campus. Upon returning, we lunched at the market named after the trail for some awesome post ride sandwiches; you can bike to it and beyond. I can’t wait to re-ride when the connections to Cowan & Tracy City are completed!

Mountain Goat Trail

Great Ride From Sewanee to Monteagle

July, 2018 by edmcanally

MGT is my home trail and I’m biased. I want you to visit. If you are traveling I-24 past Monteagle, drop in and enjoy the Goat. Presently, the trail runs on the old Mountain Goat line from Sewanee to near Marion County line. It crosses the highway and runs parallel to it into Monteagle (4.7 miles.) we really enjoy the nostalgia of riding the old line. You can picture the coal train lumbering across the forested ridge line. We ride a slight incline from Sewanee to Monteagle and then coast back. I give this trail 4 Stars for two reasons: road crossings and maintenance. Nothing to do about the road crossing but be aware of them. The trail is old enough to have a few root problems affecting the asphalt. Mowing lacks a clear consistent plan. Still it’s 2/3’rds shady and quite enjoyable. A new section from Monteagle to Tracy City is presently under construction. Soon the MGT will be a destination trail.

Indian Creek Greenway (AL)

Indian Creek Won’t Disappoint

July, 2018 by edmcanally

To say Huntsville Greenways are cookie cutter is not a diss. One can expect concrete and asphalt trails, wide grassy borders and usually a creek. Almost all are well maintained. The best are mowed all the way to the water, have interesting structure and avoid road crossings. Indian Creek is one of the better ones. Just wish it was longer.

Bradford Creek Greenway

Unremarkable, But Clean and Safe

July, 2018 by edmcanally

A nice little Greenway, failed only by any interesting structure. Kinda feels like your riding in someone’s back yard. Great if you live in one of the connecting subdivisions; but a bit boring.

Big Cove Creek Greenway

Big Cove, Flint River & Hays PreserveTrio

July, 2018 by edmcanally

Outstanding family venue. Plenty of places for kids to play in the water, enjoy the nature park and it’s playgrounds and ride about 9 miles of Greenway. Restrooms in the park are rare for Huntsville’s greenways. Even my daughter said “Good find, dad!” I’ll take that. You can park at either end, or at Hays in the middle.

Aldridge Creek Greenway

Aldridge Rocks

July, 2018 by edmcanally

A jewel among Huntsville greenways, Aldridge is level, clean, safe, and relatively entertaining. You’ll want selfies at the bridges and train trestle. In all a good 10 mile round trip along the Creek.

Chattanooga Riverwalk (Tennessee Riverpark)

Dont start at Ross's crossing, confusing as all hell

June, 2018 by d33psp33d

This is a new fav usa scenic bike path, my biggest gripe is most reviews suggest parking/starting at Ross's Crossing. This is a good spot to park if you are familiar with the bike path however if it is your first time you will be thoroughly confused, as there is ZERO signage, many stairs to climb which will have you scratching your head "am I really on a bike path?" many streets that have auto traffic, again; "this cant be the bike path". Once you clear these confusing obstacles you will be well on your way to a great ride, or you could just start at (Boathouse Rotisserie & Raw Bar)/vicinity and avoid all this confusing BS.
