New off road section was created along Broadway in Albany after coming out of the tunnel. Watch for the signs for the Empire Trail also
I wouldn’t have found this trail without this app!! Quiet paved trail through the woods for a few miles until you reach the paved path that runs along 18F to Youngstown. A safe path good for a leisurely ride without having to worry about traffic.
It's good trail to complement the other trails. Also, beautiful view.
This trail is specifically beautiful during fall.
Tried riding the section identified as Trail #7 in the southern section of the park. Probably OK for mountain biking, but not typical rail-Trail. Better luck at the north end at Mount Morris. You can park right at the west side of the river or a little further south in town is a nice access with parking. We rode several miles south from Mount Morris and found it to be a nice easy ride. Mostly packed gravel with some dirt.
Trail near Amsterdam is pretty scenic and has potential to be really nice, however, the trail both East and West of Amsterdam was very bumpy in spots with many tree roots pushing thru the old pavement. Some sections need to be repaved.
Nice trail for kiddos, but a bit boring for adults. Doesn’t actually lead anywhere so you just kind of shrug and turn around when you get to the end.
Took a walk while my daughter was playing hockey. Since we can’t go in to watch I figured I’d take a walk. I didn’t even know this trail was here. Found it by dumb luck. It’s extremely nice, all paved, mower and landscaped. I only went a couple miles but I’ll definitely start doing it all the time.
This is a great, relatively flat trail for biking, with a nice connection to Lincoln Park near the southern end. There is a gentle slope uphill from the north end to the south end, so when you're riding back north, it's a nice downhill cruise. Very smooth trail and a nice easy ride.
Great afternoon to pack a picnic lunch, start at State St, take a 4 mi ride to Lincoln Park, have lunch, and take a slightly easier ride back north.
Only major road crossing is Sheridan Dr. and it's pretty safe with the crossing lights.
We thought this trail wasn’t good at all. The trail through niawanda park is great but going towards the city you are biking next to the thruway and takes you into the industrial area of tonawanda, and there is no view of the water. This is a one and done for us.
Just finished an out and back (Cattaraugus-Salamanca). Nice trail but it was dry when we rode it. If wet it would be dicey. Shady on hot days (88 when we rode). I would recommend it but no road bikes!
