Green Circle Trail

Nice Trail

March, 2021 by johnekoehler

I just finished about half of the trail today and I was very impressed. I started at Iverson Park which has plenty of parking. The first segment was on city streets in Stevens Point going through a nice neighborhood . Very little traffic on the streets even for a Saturday afternoon. The trail was very well marked with plenty of signage. The trail then turns into a gravel path which was very well packed and smooth. It was actually less bumpy than the city streets. It was a very scenic ride along a river and through the pine trees. There were a moderate amount of hills. There were a couple of nice boardwalks across some wetlands which were very well kept and added an interesting change of scenery. I highly recommend this trail.

Tomorrow River State Trail

interesting and varied scenery

July, 2020 by ucrubr

Went Manawa to plover. I enjoyed the different types of landscapes. Decently maintained I’ve been on worse. Hard to find where it picks up in amherst. I lady had to help me. She said no one can find it. There really is no signage.

Mountain-Bay State Trail

Howard to Shawano

July, 2020 by ucrubr

67 miles round trip. Brown county stretch is very well maintained. Shawano not as nice. Two trees were down blocking the trail. A stretch is so overgrown and muddy I was nervous I wouldn’t make it through and get eaten alive by deerflys. Once in Shawano it turns nice again. There is a portion that is closed right before Bonduel but it takes the road for a mile or two and is well marked. Not very traveled on most of the trail. Between the cities. I liked it though. Enough shade and low winds. Want to take the Shawano to Wausau stretch next.

Tomorrow River State Trail

It's any easy tide from Amherst to Scandinavia. Once at Scandinavia there is a little bakery in town to recharge at. So far one of my favorite rides.

Green Circle Trail

beautiful area

June, 2020 by ucrubr

Completed the entire 25 miles today. It was beautiful. First thought was it’s narrow and curvy on a lot of the trail. I biked it so I went slower than usual not knowing what lay ahead. Lots of road between the trails. Watch very carefully for the green circle signs tho. Many trails split off I had to backtrack twice. I enjoyed it and the scenery for the most part was beautiful.

Pleasantly surprised! One of the best scenic trails we’ve traveled on. A tad bumpy in spots but overall easy to travel for a gravel trail.

Schrader Connection

Nice little trail

May, 2020 by sswolfram

We parked at the dog park and it was about a .25 mile walk (turn right when leaving the dog lot) to the trail. The trail is gravel and very similar to the Tomorrow River Trail...same gravel, long, straight and relatively flat. Very easy to walk and follow. Not good for sightseeing. Seemed a lot more windy on the trail then at the dog park. ¿¿¿¿¿

Tomorrow River State Trail

Fun Trail with a few downsides

August, 2019 by dnh0506

Well maintained trail that takes you through different scenery. For an extra stop you can hop off the trail onto Tomorrow River Rd and head into Amherst to visit Central Waters Brewery. Biggest downside is the unfinished trail in Amherst Junction that lead to some confusion, and once into Waupaca county we had to turn around due to trees being down over the trail (from the major storms earlier this summer).
