Doctors Lake Drive Bike Path

Right here in my neighborhood

November, 2024 by v9qn96jppj

I have rode this a few times now since I live right here. It’s nice, convenient, and everyone I come across on the trail has been friendly and will say hi and or wave to you. You can veer off the trail and go up into the many neighborhoods to get some extra miles in if you would like.

Dr.’s Lake Drive Bike Trail

September, 2024 by asimpson50

Doctors Lake bike Trail was my first bike ride since I started biking again. It’s not very scenic except for the animated faces on some of the trees that line the trail. The people that were out either bike riding or jogging or just walking were all very friendly. It was nice to see other people out doing activities.

Timucuan Trail

Wonderful ride!!

June, 2024 by hspnby2xqc

Since moving to Fernandina Beach from the Florida west coast, we had been looking for a good trail at a decent length. This is a perfect route with very few driveways and the ability to really get your heart rate up. Plus, the scenery is amazing! We are in love!

Imeson parking lot under construction

June, 2024 by kevievn

We went last week and the Imeson lot was under construction. Had to go to the one near Camp Milton. Too bad this isn't listed on any site. Otherwise the trail is in great shape. Nice smooth asphalt.

S-Line Urban Greenway

1-speed rider

S-line appears to be holding its own, but has never expanded east across Bolivard street.....sorta dead ends. Noted lack of signs. Has been connected to the new Emerald Trail, which ends at the old Union RR station just west of the downtown area. Crossing Kings Road is a thrill we could do without.

Black Creek Trail

Disappointing

June, 2024 by mlafferty54

I had an appointment in the area so decided to combine a ride. Not worth the trouble. The trail is poorly maintained and the long section of wooden bridge is old, warped and teeth-chattering. Traffic noise made conditions worse. Overall an unpleasant ride. I hope NE Florida will up its trail game some day.

Wonderful trail. Lots of shade over 2/3 of the trail.

9 miles plus connects to Amelia Island Trail

May, 2024 by fkelly17

This is one of the best trails in North Florida. It traces what used to be part of the Buccaneer Trail. It is 9 miles one way from end to end so you can ride 18 miles out and back. TrailLink needs to update their map. Plus it connects to the Amelia Island trail for another 10 plus miles.

Friendly Folks

April, 2024 by shaarp1956

Hi everyone, My great niece, her friend and myself parked at the most westward trail head. We had a nice ride, visited Camp Milton, saw a beautiful Blue bird, continued on to the Imeson Rd. Trail Head. Turned around and on the way back we had the pleasure of seeing a deer on the edge of the trail.

Jekyll Island Trail

Jekyll Island Never Disappoints

April, 2024 by jallen1804

This trail is a nice wide path that runs around the island in wooded area and along the beach. It is a beautiful ride. The trail is crowded in places on the weekends.

Hampton Spur Bike Trail

Disappointed

March, 2024 by susancnett

I am not sure where the 5-star ratings are coming from- maybe we only saw the worst part, but we were unimpressed. We only did the southern tip of the trail. It is a wide sidewalk, separated from the road by a grass median strip that is only about 2 feet wide at parts.

The concrete was not in the best shape, and in a couple of places where the concrete had heaved, they had not milled them to make them safer for folks on smaller wheels, like scooters or rollerblades.

There were numerous street crossings, and the "trail" runs in front of stores and gas stations.

I think the best thing about the trail is that it connects other sidewalks, so if you live or stay in the area you can get to places without adding your car to the already heavily traveled streets.
