Elephant Swamp Trail

Unique, Special, and Contrasting Trail

December, 2016 by rcpat

I hit this trail the summer of 2015 upon the recommendation from a fellow biker. The trail was different from what I was used too. The trail is mostly dirt with wood chips on top. Some parts are gravel. The first part is dense with woods and swamps. Then all of sudden, you are in farm field of corn. This just blew me away. The trail is very isolated. So you might want to ride with a friend. Also, it can be muddy in spots.
This trail deserves to be used. I have a special fondness for this trail.

Junction & Breakwater Trail

nice trail

November, 2016 by mjcjnk

First 2 miles is paved the rest in well pack crushed stone. Nice scenery and finish your experience at the Rehoboth board walk. Plenty of restaurants and shops

Pleasantville to Somers Point Bike Path

Good Bike Path is Getting Better

November, 2016 by jmr555

This is a wonderful bike path that connects four cities along Shore Road in Atlantic County. The path is well maintained and heavily used. Improvements are planned on both end of the path. In Pleasantville, a State grant will fund the installation of LED lighting in areas that are currently not lit. In Somers Point, grant funds will be used to complete the "missing link" a new section of the bike path that will connect it to the Route 52 Causeway into Ocean City. A grant will also the widening of the bike path in Somers Point to ten feet and the installation of new LED decorative lighting.

Junction & Breakwater Trail

Great Trail with lots of places to stop

October, 2016 by lkregecz

I really enjoyed riding this trail today. I parked behind the Tanger Outlets and rode to Lewes. Lewes is a quaint town with lots of little shops and restaurants. I then continued on to Cape Henelope State Park. Stopped for a walk on the beach. Then rode back to the other end of the trail in Rehobeth. Make sure you stop for a drink at Revelation Brewery at the end of the trail.

Junction & Breakwater Trail

October, 2016 by pinkhouselady1

we were in Rehoboth and looked for a trail. There was free parking behind the outlet mall that connected to the trail. rode all the way to Lewes. trail is in excellent condition and has a few street crossings but not difficult to manage. made for a great ride.

Elephant Swamp Trail

Nice and easy trail

October, 2016 by stevemchugh

It has great shade and is well kept plus not used too much. I keep going back to it because the 9 mile round trip is perfect for me. It's easy to miss parking lot so go slow for the last mile. if you use google make sure you type in Elephant Swamp Nature Trail. If you leave out Nature ... It takes you to a different place. Could get boring if you want to be challenged.

Prickly Pear Trail

Nice trail for family

Junction & Breakwater Trail

Spectacular trail

August, 2016 by silviagroman

Beautiful views of salt marsh, corn fields and wooded areas. The meandering trail was infused with fragrant scents from flowering plants. We started at the outlets and rode into Cape Henlopen Park, completing a 17 mile circuit. I never imagined the natural beauty tucked away on this trail.

Gordons Pond Trail

Very nice riding trail, very well done

July, 2016 by jcphenry

The Gordon's Pond trail is a pleasure to ride and is thoughtfully designed and carefully maintained. It is an excellent example of how a park trail can be built so as to minimize harm to the park environment and to provide its users a high-quality outdoor experience. The surface trail is built on a winding low earthen berm with a fine gravel surface and over the wet marsh areas, is served by a raised trestle built of steel and wood (with water draining and slip-resistant deck panels and side railings with observation turnouts). The structure is of very fine design and materials and does not intrude upon or diminish the natural beauty of the salt pond. The rest areas at Herring Point and at the park entrance off Ocean Avenue in north Rehoboth Beach have clever and convenient bike self-service installations with pumps and tools. I have enjoyed riding the Cape Henlopen State Park trails for several years and the Gordon's Pond Trail is a high point in that experience. If you are only going to ride in one area, I recommend this trail.
