Cardinal Greenway

Cardinal Greenway Trail, Richmond, IN to Losantville, IN

May, 2020 by rtool

My first time in this trail. Fully enjoyed it. Well taken care of with easy access at many places along the trail. Indiana drivers were very accommodating at intersections. Now I want to ride another section of this trail.

Big 4 Trail (Lebanon to Thorntown)

Great Ride

April, 2020 by jana.parsons

This is a great trail if you have a mountain bike. The first few miles are paved, but there are some sections that had some small gravel. It was mostly comfortable riding, but as I said-on my mountain bike. I would not take a road bike on the length of this trail. You have to do some crossing of country roads that aren't paved. It's a nice, peaceful ride overlooking some fields and beautiful scenery. The only issue I had is when the trail gets to Thorntown and when you cross the street-look for the blue markers on the pavement. I initially missed it, but found my way. The trail ends up on a bridge overlooking Sugar Creek. I am excited for them to finish the trail all the way to Colfax and then to Lafayette.

The trail is fast and smooth with very few major intersections. This is my new favorite bike ride.

Ronald Reagan Parkway Trail

Solid Trail

This trail has been connected from Stafford all the way to Brownsburg, which is really awesome. I love the area and the minimal foot traffic along the path. There is one section in need of a drain or ditch on the side in order to prevent sitting water and mud from getting on the pavement and making it slick. A few lights every quarter mile or so would be awesome as well!

B&O Trail

A Welcome Retreat

September, 2019 by davemarty54

My wife and I moved to the area just three months ago, but this trail has quickly become one of my favorite places to get away, usually on my bicycle. As others have said, it's mostly quiet and well maintained. In fact, as I rode this morning a man was slowly riding his three-wheeler and blowing fallen leaves off the trail. Much appreciated!

Big 4 Trail (Lebanon to Thorntown)

pretty but bumpy

September, 2019 by jtkoehler2

My wife and I ride this trail a lot. (age 63 and 65)we have one here in Crawfordsville but it is too short.
We have ridden the whole trail Thorntown to Lebanon and back 3 times in the last month. The sections around the cities and Hazelrigg are smooth. the rest is bumpy. Lebanon has filed for a grant from the state and wants to take over pave and maintain the trail from Lebanon to Surem Plant rd (Thorntown). (We started a bike riding group from church we wanted to introduce others to the trail and bike riding.)
Going north out of Thorntown the trail is 8/10 of a mile and then ends at Sugar Creek. I saw where Colfax got some grant money to connect to the trail south, we will see how long that takes. I'd give it a 5 star rate if it was paved smooth.

Sugar Creek Trail

connection finished

September, 2019 by jtkoehler2

as of last year the break in the map shown is now connected. There is also a parking lot next to the animal shelter which is where you can get on the trail. (that is the connection point) You do not have to go the west end anymore to get on it. It is all paved. My biggest complaint is that it still does not connect to downtown trail head park. which would solve the other problem, which is , it is too short.
