Great Trail for an ebike ride!

July, 2021 by dan380

My wife and I are traveling the country with some of the ebikes from our rental fleet in our Riverside Retro RV Bunkhouse Travel Trailer, specifically to ride our nation's bike trails. This was the second stop on our inaugural trip, and what a great stop it was! We stayed at Sara's Campground and were able to ride our Rad Power Bikes to the trailhead directly from the campground! Even though we were on ebikes - I was on the RadRover and my wife was on the RadMini - we kept our Pedal Assist to low levels and stayed in lower gears to get a nice burn going. This trail is beautiful, with many opportunities to stop along the way and take in the scenery, including the beaches along Lake Erie. I highly recommend adding this trail to your bucket list!

Shoreline Trail

needs lots of work

There is a section of the trail like others have mentioned going through Niawanda Park that is very beautiful but then a lot of the little connecting trails take you through parts of town that is under construction and the roads are god awful.

Ellicott Creek Trailway

Cute trail with lots of beauty!

July, 2021 by amassa86

A great place to workout in the buffalo area while enjoying the beauty of Mother Nature. The trail is perfect for biking, walking, and even rollerblading. The changes in elevation are slight, but enough to add to the challenge. The trail is faulty lengthy, maybe 6 miles? I ended up picking up another trail that lead to the Erie Canal and up to Lockport. I went in July of 2021 - perfect at 7am. There are several bathroom throughout the trail. There’s tennis courts so bring a racquet! There’s also a golf course. Plenty of parking - free!!

Erie Canalway Trail

Rome and Utica areas.

June, 2021 by jlappen

Signage coming into Rome traveling east, or leaving Rome traveling west, is non-existent. Expect to travel on busy city roads. Trail Links is a bit better than the Erie Canalway booklet in navigating this, but it’s still a challenge. Lots of construction in Utica and the trail east of Leland Ave is closed.

Clarence Pathways

With about 5 miles of road riding, can make a nice 31 mile figure 8

May, 2021 by bikin-mike

Parked at Clarence Town Park on Rt 5 in Clarence. Nicest public park restrooms I have ever seen. Thank you!!! Rode NE on the West Shore trail to the end in Akron. Wide open rural area with very little shade. Took a right on Cedar, left on Main, and right on Parkview. Probably about 2 miles on road. Food available in Akron. Very little traffic on a weekday evening. Think I was passed by only 5 cars. Gentle grades and the steepest one was a downhill on Parkview. Stretch along 93 is only a couple hundred feet on a sidewalk.

Rode NW on Peanut Line to end in East Amherst. Narrower than West Shore with some shade. Clarence Center to East Amherst had several easy street crossings and lots of walkers and dogs.

Rode back SE to Strickler Rd and headed S for about 3 miles. Fairly quiet country road. Only passed by about a dozen cars. All were very nice and gave me plenty of room. One even waited for oncoming car to clear before passing. Had a slight uphill grade to Rt 5.

Rode to the SW end of the West Shore trail. This was my favorite part. Well shaded through wetlands. I suspect it might be mosquito heaven certain times of the year.

Headed back NE to my starting spot at the park. Odometer showed 31 miles. Nothing exciting scenery-wise, but well maintained trails with great signs and milemarkers every .2 miles. Thanks.....bikin-Mike May 2021

Karl Boyes Multi-Purpose National Recreation Trail

End of February 2021

March, 2021 by vicki1960

The last week of February we had a warm up and some of the lake had started to thaw. Most of the foot of snow had been melted off. Always great to see different weather changes on the Peninsula.

February 2021 Ride

February, 2021 by vicki1960

A few mile section of this trail has been snowplowed providing the opportunity to take in a Winter ride. Though the temp was a mere 20 degrees, the sun was out and there was barely any wind. The lake and bay had just frozen this early in February. It does not freeze every year. Also ice dunes had formed on the Lake (Lake Erie) side of the Peninsula. Ice dunes do not occur every year. The section of the trail which was plowed was at the State Park entrance and out a few miles. Still able to get in a decent ride and enjoy a beautiful Winter in the park via bicycle.

Springville Pop Warner Rail Trail

Not for Cross Country Skiers

January, 2021 by mbeatty1

This is a beautiful trail, very well groomed and serene surroundings. If the rating was for those issues, I would give it a 5 star, HOWEVER, if you wish to use it for cross country skiing, you will be assaulted w/ the sounds, smells and close encounters w/ snowmobiles, and, if my experience on Sunday is any indicator, many of them. This greatly compromises the experience if you are hoping for a quiet, fresh air commune w/ nature type of skiing. I definitely will not be going back. Please understand, I am not dissing snowmobiles, just saying they are incompatible w/ Xcountry skiing, at least on this trail,
