New off road section was created along Broadway in Albany after coming out of the tunnel. Watch for the signs for the Empire Trail also
We accessed the trail at McCrea Point Park and walked along the Chadakoin River. We saw some ducks in one of the streams off the trail and a deer crossing the stream. Nice parking area next to the scrap recycling plant. A great trail to safely walk on around Jamestown. Not real quiet due to the machinery at the scrapyard. Trail is flat and in good paved condition. We went out a few miles and turned around.
Started at the Thayer Road parking lot, and went 7 miles out and back. It was a nice gradual uphill ride through mostly a carpet of leaves. Riding a fat tired bike with 26x4.0 wheels, so some muddy spots were ok. I would recommend at least a mountain bike. The ride was a complete joy and I look forward to a longer ride.
We started in Mayville, and got bogged down a few miles west of town-Heavy rains earlier in the week probably were part of the issue, East of town-headed for Bemis Point-the Grass on the trail was overgrown & too thick to pass with Our Gravel bikes (probably not as well maintained after the season) I’d love to try it again in Mid-Summer, though! The scenery was was gorgeous- it’s such a beautiful area!!
It's good trail to complement the other trails. Also, beautiful view.
This is a great trail to enjoy a peaceful leisurely bike or horseback ride for a few hours. The scenery is beautiful. The trail is mostly shaded. The trail is grass covered in spots. There were very few people. There are several gated stops along the way which makes the trail harder for horseback riding. Fun ride.
Trail near Amsterdam is pretty scenic and has potential to be really nice, however, the trail both East and West of Amsterdam was very bumpy in spots with many tree roots pushing thru the old pavement. Some sections need to be repaved.
Nice trail for kiddos, but a bit boring for adults. Doesn’t actually lead anywhere so you just kind of shrug and turn around when you get to the end.
Took a walk while my daughter was playing hockey. Since we can’t go in to watch I figured I’d take a walk. I didn’t even know this trail was here. Found it by dumb luck. It’s extremely nice, all paved, mower and landscaped. I only went a couple miles but I’ll definitely start doing it all the time.
This is a great, relatively flat trail for biking, with a nice connection to Lincoln Park near the southern end. There is a gentle slope uphill from the north end to the south end, so when you're riding back north, it's a nice downhill cruise. Very smooth trail and a nice easy ride.
Great afternoon to pack a picnic lunch, start at State St, take a 4 mi ride to Lincoln Park, have lunch, and take a slightly easier ride back north.
Only major road crossing is Sheridan Dr. and it's pretty safe with the crossing lights.
We thought this trail wasn’t good at all. The trail through niawanda park is great but going towards the city you are biking next to the thruway and takes you into the industrial area of tonawanda, and there is no view of the water. This is a one and done for us.
