Lackawanna Rail Trail

Great trail to run on

November, 2019 by roblyerandrew

Great trail for running. I use this trail often to help complete workouts and long runs. Always nice to avoid traffic and have a beautiful view along the way. Trail includes having ability to start in multiple locations.

Beautiful!

Nice scenic views. Little rocky in some places, but very enjoyable biking

Lackawanna Rail Trail

Very smooth

September, 2019 by sturdy

My wife and I biked this trail with ease, noisy due to proximity to RT 86 but loved it. Ends near a Wegmans so you can get a drink or snack. The ride back to Lowman is very easy as it is downhill, but you don't notice the uphill ride hardly at all.

fantastic peaceful scenic path some shade

September, 2019 by janicelehmansnapp

We love biking this trail. For us biking 1/3 of the entire trail is more do-able. Some areas are shady and cooler. Great smooth surface to bike on. A few Port-a- potty’s along the trail. Highly recommend!

My wife and I road the trail on 8-31-19 and it was very nice. Perfect day for a 17 mile ride. The ride down is very nice and makes for a perfect day. Then we over to Liquid State brewery and that topped the day off just perfect. Chet and Julie

Pine Creek Rail Trail

The Best Trail

August, 2019 by colavs80004

Great trail. I rode the trail during the hottest days of the summer. I started early in the day in Wellsboro. There was a lot of shade from the trees.

This trail is pretty long. You can plan a weekend trip to do the whole trail and visit the communities of Northern Pennsylvania. A definite bucket list destination for hikers and bikers!

We parked at the Lowman lot. Rode to Elmira and back. Nice little trail.

Black Diamond Trail

Trail in good shape

July, 2019 by grahams1000

The trail was perfect in late July 2019. A bit hard to find the beginning in Ithaca, but it's right behind (west of) the Ithaca Children's Garden. The route is a steady but gentle rise almost all the way to Taughannock Falls State Park, but of course that makes it sheer rolling pleasure on the way back. You can also enjoy a couple miles of extra trail, paved, along the Ithaca waterfront over to Stewart Park at the southeast corner of Cayuga Lake.

In late July 2019 the trail was in fine shape from Watkins Glen to Millport, which is as far as we went.

Pine Creek Rail Trail

Wonderful views and wildlife

June, 2019 by mstempka

I rode the "lower" portion of the Pine Creek Trail in mid-June 2019. I rode from Jersey Shore to Waterville and back, approximately 25 miles round trip.

In addition to parking at the Jersey Shore trailhead lot off of Railroad Street, there is parking in town in the YMCA parking lot where the trail ends.

I recommend beginning your ride in Jersey Shore, as you'll go mostly up hill to start into Waterville.

There are a number of wonderful old railroad bridges you'll cross making your way to Waterville. The mountain views are spectacular along this section, as are the views of the creek below. Expect to see a number of people kayaking and making their way down the creek.

One thing to note, do pay attention to wildlife. I did spot a large black snake sprawled across the trail and a black bear in the distance in the area of the comfort station just south of Waterville.

Overall, this trail is great and worth the drive to Jersey Shore for a ride.

Attention New Trail riders!

June, 2019 by tjligouri

This trail is ideal for you and your horse becoming accustomed to the many sites and sounds on the trail. It is flat and wide enough for two horses and riders to travel side by side if desired. The footing is crushed rock. Expect to cross short roads and wood bridges and to encounter a variety of wildlife including humans on their bicycles, pushing strollers or just walking.
