Lackawanna Rail Trail

Not real scenic

Asphalt smooth. River and some wetland views but not that impressive. Worth the ride on asphalt.

Good trail

Nice smooth trail. Park in marina area at Seneca Lake and follow signs. We might have missed a sign and ended up at Fairground road. Turn left and trail was about 100 yards away. Loved it.

Really awesome wetlands

Don't let Mt Bike trail comment scare u. Nice bike trail and has been extended south to Freeland. Great natural wetands as well as Dryden lake. A few areas are sod but brief. Don't plan to have access to restrooms with Covid. Bikers and hikers Labor Day but no horses.

Awesome trail

If this trail was any more smooth it would be concrete. Northern most point has awesome waterfall and southern most connects with a waterfront paved trail which u shouldn't miss.

Keuka Outlet Trail

great novice cycle trail

September, 2020 by gohbec

Rode my hybrid cruiser along half the trail from Penn Yan to Seneca Mill Falls. It was overcast, threatening to rain just before sunset or otherwise would have gone further. It’s true that riding East is much easier that West. The smell of manure and sewer were a little strong for a short distance but the cliffs and the stream were beautiful. Will try it again from the eastern side soon.

What a GEM!

August, 2020 by mattdean

My 11 year year old daughter and I tackled this trail in late August. We had a blast. Effortless traveling from West to East. Surprisingly easy headed back West. The group that maintains this path deserves high praise. Best ride I have found in WNY for history, scenery and ease!

Bike Trail

Trail was nice, but needed more signage in Montour Falls to get back on the trail.. Started at Watkins and rode to the domes. It is a steady climb almost all the way. I would recommend starting at the domes and going into Watkins, that way it is an easier ride. Nice to ride in the shade!!

Nice trail, well maintained and peacefull. Parked a vehicle on the Huck Finn Rd. Traveled to Watkins Glenn (Clute Park) you can also park at the High School. The trail overall needs more signs. The trail once you leave Montour Falls, its an incline most of the trail to our end point. Suggest riding from Huck Finn Rd to Watkins, or ride from Watkins and decide when to ride back.

Spectacular day - fun trail. Relatively short - 7 + miles all asphalt that parallels 17/86. Good local resource - not too crowded.

Nice scenic trail, Watkins Glen could use better signs

July, 2020 by ajavaly

We rode round trip from Watkins Glen to about 3/4 of the way to Millport. The signs in Watkins glen could've been better, and I'm not sure why they start you at the marina, other than the parking. The signs rightly point you down Decatur St, but the one to turn left onto Clarence is missing (I can see it on Google maps). Didn't see any near the High School either. Otherwise the surface is well maintained and you're mostly under a shady canopy of trees.

Pine Creek Rail Trail

wonderful

July, 2020 by elj317

62 miles of peace! very well maintained 12 to 20 feet wide hard packed cinder. no potholes, no clumps of dirt to skid in. Well shaded for us on hot July days. Took us three days to complete, doing out and backs of 50,50, 30 miles. Great views of Pine Creek, mountains......a few bridges to cross. interesting informational boards to read at stops along the way. plenty of bathroom facilities, parking areas along the trail. pass through very quaint hamlets if one desires a snack or drink. And....very friendly people. all the locals we met in the area towns were very nice and helpful. We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Mansfield. Very ,very nice Hampton Inn. Went to two craft brewery restaurants...one in Mansfield the other in Wellsboro. The whole area is pretty. Lots of mountains, hills, streams....highly recommend this bike trail .

Pine Creek Rail Trail

Rode from rattlesnake rock parking area to Turkey path, just shy of 15 miles and then back to rattlesnake rock. Slight grade on the way to Turkey path but made for an easier ride back. Lots of wildlife on the trail.
