Thermal Belt Rail Trail

Thanks for such a nice way to see NC

April, 2024 by vc2019

Enjoyed the entire trail on Aprils Fool Day. It is a nice wide trail from beginning to end. There are some road crossings but all are well marked. We saw walkers and cyclist on this overcast spring day. Impressive maps at the parking lots.

Thermal Belt Rail Trail

great ride

March, 2024 by dongrant18

Wide, long ascents and descents and varied scenery. We wisded that we had stopped at Fly Boy Pizza and Fly Girl Brewing at Mile 3.5. Super friendly bike store called Grumpy’s around mile 6 across the street from the trail.

Nice trail love the bridge.

March, 2024 by nharman84

My only complaint is the bridge has been locked for months with what seems like no real reason at this point.

Bakers Creek Greenway

Great stroll

March, 2024 by ladyleslie1981

Great trail but could get confusing when it connects to other trails. Overall great experience and environment!

Irish Buffalo Creek Greenway

Very Nice!

February, 2024 by britneelong06

Me and my husband bring our kids here a lot. The trail is nice and is paved for most of it. It’s very easy to walk for little ones and easy to roll a stroller. We will continue come because it has a little bit of everything.

Great Paved Rail Trail

February, 2024 by dy9b5wdhhp

I was visiting my parents at a nearby city and saw this trail listed. I hopped on it on the southern end in Forest City at mile 13.6 and road to the trailhead in Gilkey and back. It was a fantastic ride and nice to see that it is completely paved and lots of places to stop and admire. I plan on coming backs after spring to enjoy the trail in full bloom!

Thermal Belt Rail Trail

There are some older reviews on here that are no longer accurate. The trail is paved from end to end. It is also well maintained as witnessed by me following guys pulling a leaf blower behind their parks Dept ATV.

Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways

Pleasant park connector in Charlotte

We had a nice time on the Irwin Creek and Stewart Creek Greenways. There was interesting public art, the tracts of a defunct railroad, city skyline views, and wooded sections.

Kings Mountain Gateway Trail

Biked the trail

September, 2023 by bill603

My wife and I ( we are in our 60's) rode our ebikes and it was a great workout. I don't think we would have made it on our mountain bikes, but we saw a guy on a regular bike. Make your way to the gravel and it's about 5 miles out and 5 miles back. It is very similar to a rail trail, but it does have some hills. Well maintained and not crowded on the gravel trail. We'll be back.

Railroad Grade Road

Excellent Course

August, 2023 by joanneavery062

The rail to ROAD conversion provides an excellent asphalt surface for road bikes. We train a lot out on the roads in SC and found this 20 mile course (10 miles out and back) so enjoyable. While we experienced local road traffic, drivers were very courteous. We never felt unsafe and saw several other riders. When we come back this way we will definitely does this again.
