Cayuga-Seneca Canal Trail

Ahhh, Swamp

October, 2018 by ghmmvnq

What a great way to get off the road and get on some crushed limestone. Watch that hole in the middle of the trail somewhere around half way.
If it is hot, take a dip in the canal, mmmmmmm... swamp!

Lancaster Heritage Trail

Scenic

October, 2018 by streak1

Ran here while on vacation in October,2018.Very scenic and quiet.Trail surface in outstanding shape considering rugged winters. If you want a trail with steep hills go to Chestnut Ridge Park in Orchard Park. It's about 30 minutes away and will really challenge your running capability.

Lehigh Valley Trail

Rode from Veteran's Park to Lehigh Park

October, 2018 by atmouse

Yesterday we rode on the trail. The surface is very good, There are minimal elevational changes. I wish a couple of trailhead maps were posted for the Rush end of the trail. Mileage signage is excellent.

This is clearly a trail well kept and loved by folks who work hard on it. Bravo for their dedication!

Really a beautiful trail for a sunny October day. We saw a good number of other bikers, dogwalkers, walkers and runners. Everyone shared the trail politely. I see there is a "power trail" of Geocaches along its length as well, but it did not seem disruptive.

Erie Canalway Trail

newly paved east of Amsterdam

September, 2018 by bhalt299

About 5 miles of newly paved trail has been open east of Amsterdam to Pattersonville. It is a really nice ride along the river.

Lehigh Valley Trail

Direction Correction

September, 2018 by kcfamily

Great trail. Flat, easy to ride - crosses a few roads but overall pleasant. Direction Correction: The directions say that after taking a left on Phillips Road to go about a mile. Instead go .4 miles for the Auburn Trail and then .5 for the Lehigh Valley Trail.

Pittsford Trail System (Railroad Loop Trail)

I love it!

September, 2018 by jitkaad

Exactly my cup of tea, wild nature feeling, no people, semi-maintained and you can let your dog off leash. Right in the middle of town!
I have been to similar trails around - Auburn Trail and Lehigh Track Trail and it is perfect for relaxing and getting some steps under your belt.

Keuka Outlet Trail

Fantastic bike ride. The bridge is out near the end at Penn Yan, but you can work around it on the streets and jump back on the trail on the other side. Great recommendation.

Genesee Riverway Trail

Fun Commuter Trail

August, 2018 by heochief

We arrived from Chicago and did a twilight ride of this trail. We started out in Rochester at the big falls. We found that the trail once found was very nice however signage we though was very confusing and could be better for the non locals. Great scenery of a trail that offers so much. We unfortunately only made it to Maple Park before the sun was setting. Better information in my opinion is needed for this trail.

Keuka Outlet Trail

Trail closed near Pen Yan

August, 2018 by mathis.scm

Trail is CLOSED! About 1/2 mile from Pen Yan the trail is washed out and closed. I tried to find a way around the closed part without success.

Cayuga-Seneca Canal Trail

Extended Ride Time

July, 2018 by mmc001

Thanks to the new Lakefront Park in Geneva you can get a longer ride. We rode from the parking lot next to the Ramada through Seneca State Park and picked up the trail there. A wooden bridge was built under 96A from the park. The only issue is that it is not marked and difficult to find. I asked a local while walking in the park and they were kind enough to help me out. If you follow the park road towards the marina there is a maintenance gate with a small sign that says Maintenance Lane. Bike through the gate and stay to the right. This will lead you to the path under 96A. I agree with the previous reviewer. Nice trail!

Riverwalk Bike Path, Tonawanda, NY

July, 2018 by johntodd104

Although this Bike Path is scenic, it is NOT maintained, it is continues wide cracks in the pavement and huge bumps. I already saw a couple bickers fall because of the neglected pavement. Not only do you risk a fall because of the neglect, you also risk damage to your tires as the bumps & cracks are severe. I have a Road Bike, and changed my tires because of the bumps, also note the bumps also can shift your gears.
