B&O Trail

Great trail

July, 2026 by cqfbn84kjd

We just rode the western part of the trail. Excellently maintained, great mile markers ever .2 miles. They have a new on line museum and artifacts of the old train line on the trail. Very cool. We plan to park near the trail next May and ride our bikes to the Indy 500. It passes 1/4 from the track. The B & O is an excellent ride! Joe Gutzwiller

Levee Trail

Good

July, 2026 by clonetrooper5373

It's a completely sunny trail, so break out the sunscreen/long sleeved shirts for this one.

The trail elevates you to the point where you will feel like you're on top of an actual levee.

You'll be seeing boat docks for the most part, so there isn't too much to see.

Milwaukee Road Transportation Trailway

Decent trail

June, 2026 by rhenry21

Rode on a very hot muggy June morning, so as others have stated bring plenty of your own water. I did the whole trail, started at Williams Dam, felt the return trip back from Bedford was just slightly easier. Note that the trail goes under the 16th St., a major thoroughfare in Bedford, and that the many amenities visible on Google maps are not accessable from the trail. I would rate the scenery as just okay, not a destination trail but entirely worthwhile if in the area. And as always, many kudos to the local (I assume) volunteers for keeping up the trail. The end near Williams was a bit rough, possibly exacerbated by recent heavy rains, but the majority is very smooth.

White Lick Creek Trail (Avon)

Great for bird watching

June, 2026 by jazzfunkblues

Although relatively short (it's actually 2.6 miles, not 2.3) it traverses wooded areas, forest edge areas, dense brush areas, open meadows, and takes you directly under the Avon haunted bridge. You're never far from White Lick Creek, and most of the time it's right next to you, so there are some very good wildlife opportunities it presents.

I did a roundtrip walk of 5.2 miles and saw numerous Indigo buntings, multiple Baltimore Orioles, Eastern Towhees, Red-eyed Videos, an Eastern parula, red headed woodpeckers, yellowthroats, a Kentucky Warbler, and at least 10-12 others I don't typically see at my feeders.

Highly recommend this trail!

National Road Heritage Trail (Terre Haute)

Great Trail

June, 2026 by maryjane711

I recently moved from a rural area in Parke County to Terre Haute.. I had no idea that the Parks and Recreation dept of Terre Haute had so many well kept trails and areas. The Heritage Trail is a phenomenal trail to bike. Mostly shaded and surrounded by nature this is truly a gem!!! The ride is very pleasant and enjoyable. From Blakey trailhead to Jones trailhead it is entirely paved. Much wildlife to be observed. It is approximately 7 miles round trip with numerous places to stop, rest and sit on a bench. To me this is HEAVEN!!!

Milwaukee Road Transportation Trailway

nice trail

It was a pleasant ride but bring your bug spray. Lots of standing water. Very few people on the trail.

Pleasant Run Trail

Trail is bumpyyyy

May, 2026 by neel.danielle

The paved trail has not been maintained and is frequently interrupted by bursting roots. Lots of homeless in the area and trash on the trail. There are much better ones in Indy…

Great connector on Pennsy - takes you through Cumberland and some nice neighborhoods!

The 106

Rough between Zionsville and the Monon, but lovely further east

May, 2026 by jonzinnel

I use this trail once a week or so to ride from Zionsville to the Monon, as it is, to my knowledge, the only direct path connecting the two and for that, I am grateful.

That said, that particular stretch needs some serious love. There are various cutouts in the asphalt where maintenance/utility companies have dug but no one ever patched afterward. Some of the driveway and intersection ramps are brutal and navigating the roundabouts around Highway 31/Meridian can be rough, depending on the time of day. Once you clear the Monon heading east, though, the trail gets much smoother and is significantly more enjoyable, though. I’ve only ridden that stretch a few times, but is lovely. I hope we’ll see some improves on the Zionsville-Carmel stretch someday.

Big 4 Trail (Lebanon to Colfax)

A Tranquil Ride Just needs a Little TLC

April, 2026 by pafallen19

Date of ride April 17, 2026. My wife and I started at the trail head in Colfax. Easy parking right at the trail head. Rode the trail from parking area to the Hazelrigg area then back. We did pass a few folks out enjoying the day - all friendly! Beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife along the trail. It’s true though that there are some pretty rough spots in and around the Thornton area. We took it slow and it was fine - bumpy- but fine. All in all it was an awesome ride and for sure will ride it again. Hoping to try it from the Lebanon direction next.

Big 4 Trail (Lebanon to Colfax)

Quiet and peaceful

April, 2026 by curt37

Rode this trail from the courthouse in Lebanon out almost to Colfax on April 12, 2026. As others have mentioned, there are some bumpy spots (roots upheaving the trail) near Thorntown, so just slow down there. And there's a half-mile stretch where it's a bit overgrown, but still easily passable. Overall, it a great trail and bit of a hidden gem. Very wide in some places; more-so than the B&O trail. Rode a total of 25 miles and just saw a handful of people. There are only a few road crossings and most of those are out in the country, with no traffic. We stopped at Klooz Brewz afterward for some nourishment. It was great!
