Riding near Letchworth SP

September, 2020 by jimblackjim7

Tried riding the section identified as Trail #7 in the southern section of the park. Probably OK for mountain biking, but not typical rail-Trail. Better luck at the north end at Mount Morris. You can park right at the west side of the river or a little further south in town is a nice access with parking. We rode several miles south from Mount Morris and found it to be a nice easy ride. Mostly packed gravel with some dirt.

Love this trail

This is 100% asphalt. Very pleasant bike ride. There are very few highways to cross. I love the part next to the river. There are many places to stop, sit, and watch the river. The loop alone is about 6 miles.

Smooth Ride

We took our tow along burley bee on this trail and it was very smooth. My daughter wasn’t bounced all around even though the path is crushed stones.

Love this Trail

It’s part of out rail trails tour of 4 states. This trail is well maintained, easy to ride on our gravel and cross bikes, and just a nice ride. Our only “issue” was lack of a rest room at either end.

Pat McGee Trail

Just finished an out and back (Cattaraugus-Salamanca). Nice trail but it was dry when we rode it. If wet it would be dicey. Shady on hot days (88 when we rode). I would recommend it but no road bikes!

West Creek Recreational Trail

Better than expected trail

August, 2020 by normastauffer

Because mountain biking was the only biking listed in the information on this trail, we weren't sure how the ride would be on our hybrid bikes. But to our great surprise, the trail was well-maintained and easy to maneuver with our hybrids. Scenery was beautiful on a stellar, sunny day. Only had time to ride about 6 miles out from St Marys and back, but next time we will plan to ride from Emporium and back. You could definitely feel the uphill incline heading back to St Marys.

Kane to Kinzua Bridge Complete

August, 2020 by czechman_tl

Started at the Kinkua Bridge State Park and road a short distance towards Kane. It appears this section is complete and the description should be updated. Beautiful area and were able to see two large hawks in the trees.

Genessee Valley Greenway near Belfast, Cuba and Caneadea

July, 2020 by jfrazier18

Me and my wife TRIED to bike the trail system but several things prevented a good ride. We first parked at the Belfast parking on 153. Found the trail was closed going north to Belfast. Road a few miles on the southbound to Cuba, but not very interesting and the trail is slow due to high grass. Drove over to Caneadea and found the parking on 19, but wow was that scary. Decided not to leave our car. Plus the trail looks not to be maintained. So far our visit to this area has not been very successful.

Beautiful surroundings on the trail

July, 2020 by vicki1960

July 2020. I found this to be one of the most beautiful trails! Heavily wooded through an absolutely gorgeous forest.
Though just under 4 miles in length I enjoyed the short ride on this trail. Having been constructed in 2018-2019 the surface is crushed limestone in very good condition.
I was dropped off at the parking area in Mt. Jewett and biked into Kinzua Bridge Skywalk State Park.
This trail ends at the skywalk. Visitor center and restrooms at the skywalk.

Kinzua Bridge Skywalk

A must see!

July, 2020 by vicki1960

We generally travel over 2 hours annually to visit the Skywalk. Though only a few tenths in length, there is an awesome visitors center with plenty of picnic area.
You can hike down to the bottom of the gorge. Make sure you have sturdy shoes.
New visitor center constructed approx 2018. Informational signs throughout the skywalk, visitors center and grounds.
