Heritage Trail (NY)

well maintained , interesting sites, and views along the way.

October, 2025 by toddburrparts

I rode from Harriman to the edge of Goshen. Nice smooth, pavement with little or no bumps. I found some interesting sites and information along the way. I will return to ride the second half of this heritage Trail.

Adirondack Rail Trail

Happiest Place in the Adirondacks!

October, 2025 by ckenisto

This trail is finally completed and is one of the best rail-trails I have ever ridden. It connects the communities of Tupper Lake, Lake Clear, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. It's extremely popular, taking you through remote wooded areas with lake vistas, and just enough community connections for you to pick up a coffee, beer or sandwich along the way. It's still a work in progress with more signs, benches, tables and rest areas yet to be completed, but it's a diamond in the rough, and sure to be in the Rails to Trails "Hall of Fame" in the future!

Springville Pop Warner Rail Trail

Too rough to ride

October, 2025 by davidmbapst

Trail has high potential but needs a lot of work. Large stones make it mostly unrideable and almost dangerous to walk. Mostly used as snowmobile trail in winter.

Catharine Valley Trail

fall of 2025

September, 2025 by ksblissit

Rode the Catherine Valley Trail in September 2025. We began at the Tops grocery store in Watkins Glen and ended at a nice picnic area. The trail was mostly good shape except near the end where it was a little muddy and slippery. Nice trail would recommend.

Black Diamond Trail

Great Trail

September, 2025 by cp2ski

Best part of our stop in Ithica. We enjoyed the trail. We started at Cass park and the reward was the beautiful Taughannock Falls. There were Ithica green deal bikes for rent at the trail head if you're in town without a bike.

Catharine Valley Trail

Disappointing

September, 2025 by tyhpbrxsyx

Rode from Watkins Glen to the South end of Montour Falls. Map posted online is terrible. Trail is poorly marked. Several points between crushed stone path and paved public roads had no trail markings. Initial section from South end of WG is just a green tunnel. Nothing to see. Too much parking lot, highway, industrial area, downtown streets. Crushed stone section was well maintained.

Cayuga-Seneca Canal Trail

Trail needs attention

September, 2025 by s8btydkgsq

This is a very good trail that needs maintenance. Chic the bridge and cut the fallen trees. The connection to the state park needs improvement Still worth the ride

Keuka Outlet Trail

Change of Pace Trail

September, 2025 by s8btydkgsq

This trail is on an old trolley line so the grades and curves are greater. The surfaces are as indicated on the description. The steep grade on the Dresden end needs a better surface. We rode on Cat Trikes and enjoyed the trail very much

Lehigh Valley Trail (Monroe County)

Outstanding

September, 2025 by johnwenderlich

We rode this whole trail (16+miles) on 9/14/25. The trail was amazing. There are a few spots with a significant amount of small gravel when my e-bike sunk into the gravel. Overall the trail was in great shape it the ride was truly enjoyable.
