Millennium Trail

Quiet Trail

July, 2020 by diablurita

Today was a beautiful day to go out and explore. I loved it that it was quiet and not too crowded, it was very relaxing to venture in such as tranquil place. We brought bikes and it was just perfect!

Des Plaines River Trail

North End of Trail is Nice!

July, 2020 by jkowalczyk33574

The north part of this trail from 137 to near the Wisconsin border is really nice thru Independence Grove thru some spectacular oak forest, scrub and savannah. Flooding has closed some underpasses at times but overall good trail when open, well marked, easy access and much fun. Lots of birds, small mammals, and the occasional snake. Nice but preserves along the way. Good to get out and enjoy!

Wild Goose State Trail

underwhelming

June, 2020 by ucrubr

Road the entire trail from fox du lac to Juneau. Plus a side 3 or so miles at the Horicon. It was so much the same. Not much changed all the way. Few people on it so it was a bit boring. Not much to visit along the way and Juneau didn’t have much either. I didn’t hate it but I wouldn’t do it again. Lots of bumps and the trail was ok otherwise. Just meh.

Wild Goose State Trail

Ruts

June, 2020 by alanelle

There are a few deep ruts caused by equipment used to push over dead trees that need repairs. Some are difficult to see until you are on top of them.

Des Plaines River Trail

I've ridden the trail in Lake County a number of times and it's great. This stretch though is pretty rough. Lots of loose gravel, ruts and no markings. I won't go back. Start at the Lincolnshire Marriott and head north and you'll have a great trip.

Glacial Drumlin State Trail

beautiful trail...

June, 2020 by tradrrr

A gravel/crushed limestone trail with some shade in parts. I rode it from London east 20 miles today after it poured yesterday and the trail was bone dry. I’d recommend having 28s on your bike as smaller tires can work but it’d be a little more difficult. There was a small stretch on streets but it was well marked and little traffic. I loved the bridges over the water and the small tunnel you pass through (keep your hands on the bars as it’s bumpy in there). There was a smallOverall a great trail.

Glacial River Trail

I've upped my review to 5 stars

June, 2020 by wilsonae

This has easily become my favorite frequent trail ride in the Rock County area. I've now completed the trail from Janesville to Johnson Creek and it is gorgeous and not busy and I don't even notice the traffic anymore. Excellent trail for road bikes. Quick tip: my favorite place to get on the trial is north of Janesville near the Janesville Animal Medical Center at 5021 N Wright Rd in Milton. You skip the road ride on HWY Y, which is the only section I don't care for. And then it is just miles and miles of well maintained trail and beautiful country scenery. Enjoy!

Old Plank Road Trail (WI)

No shade, lots of hills

June, 2020 by kjberndt

Started in Greenbush and made it 9 miles before turning back. All asphalt, no shade, lots of hills between Greenbush and Plymouth.

Capital City State Trail

Went 6/19/20. Enjoyed the ride a lot. I prefer the country area towards fitchburg, but it was nice to ride downtown as well. If you can only do one ride while in the Madison area, I think this one is best.

Des Plaines River Trail

Rode it from Lake Forest to Wisconsin border

June, 2020 by falberto73

Rode it in June 2020. As others said the Lake county section is amazing. I used a gravel bike with 38 tires, but it can be done with any bike but it was more fun like this. A mix of prairie and shaded oak forest section, water views, turns, and even rollers. This trail is second to none I know in its beauty.
