Great Ride on a Hot Day

June, 2018 by mctamara

We rode the Ripon-Berlin route up and back. It was an unusually hot day, but the trail is 80 - 90% shaded. Very few open areas and a few minutes' ride gets you back in the shade. A round of thunderstorms had just finished when we set out but the trail was mostly dry and very well-maintained. Mosquitoes were abundant so wear spray if you plan to stop for a bit. Had a break and nice lunch at Shepard's in Berlin, and made use of Mike's Bike Shop in Berlin too. Be aware that there are signs prohibiting electric bikes on this trail...I contacted authorities who stated that ebikes are fine for anyone with a disability or who might be pulling a disabled person. I plan to address this further. I had my regular bike this time but often use my ebike to pull my disabled adult daughter.

Nice training ride

June, 2018 by cnuechtrails

This is a nice training ride. It is very flat and not a lot of scenery the first 10 miles out of West Bend. Bring sunscreen because most of it is in the open.

Eisenbahn State Trail

nice, but loose top gravel on north half

June, 2018 by sensi3d

I ride a trike with 2" balloon tires. the first 5 miles from Rusco dr. were great. At Barton it switched to traffic bond (stone) . The stone on top of a hard base was loose . This made for a bumpy and noisy ride. Have ridden hundreds of miles on stone trails and never seen this much loose stone. Still ride able though.

I LOVE the ERT! It is nice to have an urban trail that is surrounded by nature.
For the first time I have a concern about it- the waste recepticles have been overflowing since Memorial Day weekend!

Ozaukee Interurban Trail

Excellent Surface thru quiet neighborhoods/fields

May, 2018 by cindylrowe

On a recent trip riding trails from Chicago to Cedarburg, WI, we found this trail to be one of the best of the 10 trails we rode during our 6 day trip. It does cross streets, and drivers generally don't stop (although we thought pedestrians had the right of way in Wisconsin - the average driver doesn't seem to know that!). But the trail is in such great condition and generally goes through quiet fields and neighborhoods. We thoroughly enjoyed it especially after some very sluggish days on wet crushed limestone. We kept thinking how lucky all the people who live near that trail are and in fact, of all the trails we rode, this one had the most other trail riders/walkers/runners!

Konkapot Creek Trail

Lovely and Quaint

May, 2018 by jeff.rademaker

Perfectly enjoyable for casual biking with a beautiful creek that runs through it. Nestled away in forest, you feel as if you're many miles away from civilization. Absolutely wonderful!

East River Trail

A great place to ride.

April, 2018 by bikezest

I ride this trail sometimes several days a week. It is really nice on weekdays. Its can busy at certain times but never too crowded. Watch your speed on blind corners as other riders and walkers/runners may come up quick.

Weston Trailhead - 10.4.2017

October, 2017 by kathleen.esqueda

Walked 2 miles in from the Weston trailhead. Trail in excellent shape. This section of the trail runs parallel to a very busy, noisy road on one side and the backyards of homes on the other. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful walk in the woods this is not it. If you don’t mind the noise and walking closely past houses and businesses it might work for you. Giving at least two stars for the great trail condition; however, this section of the trail was not what I personally had hoped it would be.

Old Plank Road Trail (WI)

Adjunct to Old Plank Road Trail

September, 2017 by lctrotta53072

Five miles north of the eastern terminus of Old Plank Road Trail is another bike trail at Quarry Park. It is not paved, but it is beautiful! It runs alongside the Pigeon River all the way to 21st Street. There is a beautiful water-filled stone quarry with beach, a spring-fed stream, and a well-manicured forest used for frisbee golf along the path.

Sheboygan Interurban Trail

Getting off the road and onto the hiking trail

September, 2017 by lctrotta53072

There is a beautiful off-road experience waiting for you near the north end of the trail between Terry Andrae Road and Stahl Road. Park the bike or car there in the pulloff and enjoy a meadow and woodland experience. Almost all trails eventually loop back to within 100 yards of the start. You will see the Black River Forest and some of the plants and animals that call it home. It is occasionally used as a horse trail, so watch your step. I will attach photos.
