Parked at Centuria, WI trailhead. There is a newish facility with indoor flush toilets, so that's a bonus, and plenty of parking. Rode north about 14 miles and turned around and came back. Trail surface was in good shape, hard-pack crushed stone. A few road crossing but nothing too bothersome. The scenery was ok, nothing great but the trail was generally fine. I used 38 mm wide tires on my Trek Domane and they were plenty wide for the trail surface.
TrailLink said it’s a great path for inline skating with smooth black top. Total lie. This was the worst path I’ve ever done. I finally turned around after 4.5 miles because it was absolutely shredding my wheels. What a joke. Mixed with the majority of the path being covered in sticks and leaves, it was atrocious. You would need a mountain bike to consider this path okay.
Not a bad trail. Pleasantly paved with few bumps. Parked at the trailhead near Molly’s restaurant, rode to Mayer and back to the 6 mile marsh for a cooldown before rain hit. The standout was the chef owned restaurant adjacent to the trail and their outstanding crafted menu using fresh local ingredients. A pleasant surprise that makes bike touring such a joy. The area felt safe and family friendly.
I grew up in Plymouth with the Luce line behind my house. When I was little, I still remember the trains going by and in middle school we’d run down the tracks to the trestle on Gleason Lake and go fishing or jump off into the lake. I remember when they pulled the tracks up and turned it into this walking path. There were still gravel pits on the opposite side and now it’s all townhomes. This trail has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My office now sits on the trail on the other side of Parker’s lake. I live in southern Wright County, and I can access the loose line trail 9 miles to south. It’s a great trail. It’s quiet well maintained and it’s like walking through the woods.
Great network to connect the lakes and parks around the city. Lots of places to stop for a bite or a drink. We biked around the chain of lakes which was beautiful, but be prepared for one-way bike trails around the lakes.
First timers, we were very impressed on a Monday, midday with gorgeous weather.
A fantastic trail from the St Cloud State campus all the way to and through Clearwater. Very smooth from St Cloud, a little rough on the way into Clearwater. Much longer than expected.
I was traveling north from Hastings and the trail was closed at the lock. Made for a short trip.
Although quite a steep hill, it’s well worth it once you make it to the bridge. Loved the views and signage explaining the history. Awesome bathrooms - thank you! Would definitely recommend this trail.
Although quite busy for a Sunday morning (which is a good thing to see the trail being used!) it was a wonderful paved trail. We also did the St Croix Loop section and really enjoyed the views of the river. As we were new to this trail, we loved all the signage explaining the historical references of the area/trail. Very appreciative of the clean bathrooms! Super nice trail we would definitely do again if in the area.
