Beautiful ride with a few busy street crossings, but scenery and path through woods are lovely. Downside is only the walkers who won’t go single file when the path is narrow. Appreciate the rest stops throughout the trail.
Became one of my favorites.
We parked at Brown’s Creek Park 8312 Neal Ave N, Stillwater to bike into downtown Stillwater but as we were preparing our bikes we got word of a Trump parade in Stillwater ¿¿ so we headed west instead toward Grant, MN and then NE for 4 miles to Pine Point Regional Park. On our way back we stopped at the cutest Beer Garden at Gasthaus Bavarian for a beer and pretzels and see the goats and chickens. Total trip was about 15 miles.
The trail is very nice - lots of variety of scenery. In town, neighborhoods, but also parks, prairie, river, ponds, and woods. There’s also lots of little fun detours. Makes for a nice leisurely ride. The trail is not marked particularly well, but it is t as bad as the other reviewer indicates. We used this app to stay on course (or get back on course if we Took a detour).
The path wasn’t always super well marked, but it’s not as bad as the other reviewer said. This app was VERY helpful in guiding us. Some in town, neighborhoods, prairie, woods, ponds, river - and lots of little detours to take advantage of. A very nice leisurely ride.
The trail is well maintained and often within a picturesque forest cover. The trail is very heavily occupied by bikes, though, so it isn't very walker-friendly
The trail has been torn up for the light rail line.
I fairly level ride along the river. Can be a bit on the busy side, especially on the northern end, but still worthwhile. Some stops along the way for water and for scenic overlooks.
The north end of the trail is beautiful, lots of nature. The mid section and southern end is a little less impressive. There are signs... but they can be easily missed, so I recommend bringing a map (or use TrailLink).
A nice gentle climb all the way out of Stillwater, hooks up with the Greenway trail. Ride next to the bubbling creek, and through lots of nature. By far one of my favorites.
Does require a bit of riding on the street, but overall a very nice trail. Couple of good climbs... and a few good brewpubs on the route (plan accordingly).
I took this trail and was shocked at how bad the conditions of the trail was, especially since I paid $7 to park for the day at Fort Snelling Park. It’s definitely up hill going south to north. I appreciated the way back. Pretty views of the river and at Minnehaha.
