White River Greenway Trail (Martinsville)

skate trail

Great for inline or quad skating. After the bridge there’s this tree that has little seeds that can be an issue for wheels. Has a kayak/canoe drop point now to.

Great trail

March, 2023 by wmjppfb2xn

Easy access from either end of the trail. Great trail that winds through a part of town and along a train track, then along the River. Some mud and debris along the low portion of the trail, but most had be removed allowing easy biking or walking rail road tracks and parks. Trail was well marked and mainly concrete that was mainly cleared after some flooding. Easy to bike or walk with some inclines. Nice trail!

Columbus People Trail

Gentle Urban and Country Mix

March, 2023 by dave.willard

This trail is lots of fun. I did the Southern section by starting at Noblitt Park and winding along the Flat Rock river and through Mill Race park. You end up at the Western edge of Columbus. The Northern section was even better. I started at the airport next to the Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum and the newly installed C-119 ‘Flying Boxcar’ troop and cargo transport. First you navigate through a commercial section that leads to a short time on low-travelled city streets. Then you rejoin the well paved path that winds South along Haw Creek and the Greenbelt golf course. Very serene ride through a cityscape with a wonderful mixture of nature and neighborhoods.

Jasper Riverwalk

impressive use of floodplain

October, 2022 by bruceimholte

We enjoyed biking this paved bike path in Jasper. It is not a fast ride, but a chance to take a break while traveling through Indiana. The City of Jasper has set aside a valuable recreation area in acreage that could just be wasted area. The trail is multiple use when many access points for residents. Midway, we biked 3 blocks to the Schnitzelbank restaurant and joined the lunch crowd for authentic German food with leftovers. The board walks are a bit tight to navigated, but maybe walking bikes across and enjoying nature is a better use of the bridge. maybewalkibikes across and

Have ridden this trail several times recently. Lots of shade, mainly flat and very safe. A great quick ride with nice scenery.

Jasper Riverwalk

Good trail for Jasper area

October, 2022 by jawinner

There aren’t a lot of paved bike trail options in the Dubois county area, so this one is nice to have available. The older section is scenic, and the newer section adds some mileage for a good out and back ride. One short steep hill but very easy otherwise. Watch out for traffic crossings.

My wife and I walk this trail several times a week and love it! It is mostly shaded and is a great place for walking, running, or riding a bike. It is a beautiful area, and very enjoyable.

Bloomington Rail Trail

Fun Trail

July, 2022 by gracarte

I am new to biking, and do not want to ride on the roads. This has been a fun trail to ride on and get back into biking. The ride isn't too challenging, but there are some small incline areas. But that really isn't my point anyway. I want to get out, be active, and enjoy my time. Happy to have found this trail.

Trail repaired

Late May 2022 storms caused Spider Creek to overflow its banks and cause severe erosion in several places between bridges 1 and 5. This has all been repaired and the trail is in good condition.

May 29 out and back ride

June, 2022 by ljdeloha

A friend and I started at Wilson Park and used the access trail to get on the rail trail. Almost immediately we encountered severe flood damage to the trail. This lasted for probably at least 1/3 of a mile. Later we encountered minor flood damage but much less of a problem. I assume this was a recent event since the trail was in perfect condition when I ride it last fall. Despite the flood damage, this is a very pleasant ride. It was interesting to see the dam with the river so full. We stopped along the trail a few times to enjoy the river views, stack rock and the high walled canyons created when the rail bed was built. A very enjoyable trail
