Westerly Creek Trail

Wrong Turn and Ended Up On This One

Sort of a nice ride through green space and parks. Only went a few miles from the north end (Expo Park) to Utah Park. Started on High Line Canal Trail but poorly marked trail and this seemed like the trail to follow. Okay trail if in the locale but not one to go out the way for.

Lake Link Trail

East end of the trail is good for biking

August, 2018 by greg131

The trail is great from McKay lake to Sagar reservoir, then it changes to a road trail. The western end has steep turns and switchbacks over a gravel trail. Very difficult to follow as the trail markings are inconsistent. Sections of the trail are arid and remote. Bring snacks and water. Look for prairie dogs and other wildlife along the trail. Recommend a cruising bike or a mountain bike with wide tires. The large portions of gravel make it unsuitable for a road bike.

Big Dry Creek Trail (Westminster)

Great trail w gravel and paved

August, 2018 by starbucknos

Noticed the only people complaining are runners. There is a nice gravel trail alongside it for much of the time, which I walked and ran for years with my kids in a stroller. We just took our first epic bike ride from Butterfly Pavion to College Hill library, stopping in btw to wade, play in parks, and have tons of fun. Its an awesome trail and not even crowded on a Saturday.

Great trail. I walk my German Sheppard on this trail. You can see all kinds of wild life. Trail is through Housing areas and runs north and south. There are a lot of bicyclists on the trails.

Snake River Recpath

Not eBike Friendly Community

July, 2018 by acewickwire

We rode our eBikes on this trail only to learn afterwards that eBikes aren’t welcome in this community. This being contrary to the bike friendly community signs posted along the roads and trails. (Colorado passed a law last year defining the classes of eBikes and our bikes fall into the category of Class I bicycles.) Unsure why this community doesn’t want eBikes on their trails. We were passed by multiple road bikers, without warning, traveling much faster than us. Despite the unwelcome attitude toward our bikes we did enjoy our ride, not much choice than to finish up once it we had gone so far. Ended up being a loop around Dillon Reservoir, all bike path except for small section of downhill road on Swan Mountain. Stopped for some lemon-aid from some enterprising little girls with a trail side lemon-aid stand.

Peaks to Plains Trail

Scenic!

Many outlets to the water, and hiking. Wide bridges with beautiful views. Lots of people though, but plenty room for biking.

Big Dry Creek Trail (Westminster)

Great for Biking

The new concrete is great for road bikes, the last section near the reservoir is gravel, but doable to a point. Great ride, not very busy.

Big Dry Creek Trail (Westminster)

Love the updated trail

June, 2018 by joannkv

With the addition of concrete, this trail is bike accessible without the mud or loose gravel that used to make it hard to navigate at times. There's a newly added gravel path beside it that should work for runners. I've seen a lot more use by baby strollers, bikes, skateboarders and walkers. The best part of Big Dry Creek is no cars and no street crossings involved.
