We hit about 30 yards or so just east of Chaska where the path was under water so probably not a great trail after heavy rains or springtime. Would also not be comfortable alone as a female as it’s very secluded and swampy around the trail. The ride was pretty easy and I would try it again with my husband going further past Chaska. Easy parking and nice start at Huber Park.
Started in Welch and road to Cannon Falls. It was a little over 20 miles roundtrip. I recommend going this direction. You go slightly up hill all the way to Cannon Falls and then back down hill coming back. Had lunch at Mill Street Tavern. It was good and had some variety. Overall, we enjoyed the trip. It is $5 per person to ride and it’s worth it to keep it well maintained. I’d strongly recommend it.
Some friends and I biked this trail the other day. We started at the trailhead and biked towards Stillwater. A nice 25-30 minute leisurely ride. The creek gushing along the side of the trail was definitely a highlight and there were also some cool historical markers. Gorgeous architecture along the way and a brief ride along the st croix at the end where we admired the bridge and boats.
Very nice trail. Eastern end is straight and sunny with slight rolling hills. Western half is hilly, winding, and gorgeous by the creek, except for the huge new multi housing development near the end.
While a nice, casual and bikable trail, it is all along streets. Sometimes busy crossroads. The end - down, down, down to the river - is awesome.
Rolling hills, scenic views, and not too crowded. A great workout especially with hills!!
We started at the Simon's Ravine trail head parking lot. Nice, flat asphalt trail that was perfect for our 6 and 8 year old. Cool too see barges and trains but also a lot of nature and pretty views.
Intermediate-hard trail Overall 3/5 for inline skating! Some parts were very smooth to medium rough. One medium sized hill and one large steep hill. If you aren’t sturdy and balanced enough that fall is going to hurt really bad
Most of Anoka county trails are poorly marked and in fair to less condition
We accessed the trail at the Welsh point and went east towards red wing. Wonderful trail covering 7.2 miles. Lots of hard words and paralleled the river. One of the nicest trails in Minnesota. We will be back often.
So beautiful! I little rough with some sand trap areas. Really enjoyed it, especially from Luck going north.
I have driven this trail several times and it has always been very clean and well kept. The trail is mostly flat and offers great scenery with neat places to stop at in the little towns you travel through between Fairbault and Mankato.
