This is a nice easy trail which follows the Erie Canalway for a while and then crosses the canal on a neat bridge.
If you like animals, it has easy access to Lollypop Farm Humane society.
This is a beautiful trail ! Lots of historical Rail Road stuff to discover, beautiful scenery, generally a smooth ride.
We only made the Phelps to Stanley segment, but plan on completing it soon.
Nice trail. Well maintained. A few bumps at the south end but not bad. Mostly shaded with openings for scenery.

Biked the Rush to Mendon section on 8/30/26. Trail surface maintained well. Mileage post/signs are along trail for reference. Interpretive signing at Rochester Junction for those interested in railroading history. Would definitely ride again.
Pleasant shaded trail with on-street sections through town. Surface is mostly crushed stone, with some areas prone to washouts. In town signage could be better.
Rode round trip from Cato. Trail was better than I had hoped. Though there were a lot of puddles to go around, I enjoyed the ride. The scenery was beautiful with lots of wetlands and forest scenes. I would recommend the trail for biking as long as you are on a mountain bike or a fat tire bike.
Started south end E.Lake Rd, end at Freeville Station. Nice variety, rural, flat, good signage, well maintained (cut grass, lots of benches). 1/2 shade, 1/2 open - 1 mi of grass, single-track, mostly cinders. Traveled past wetlands & lake. We saw ducks, lots of birds, bald eagle, young doe in creek, beaver dams. Good ice cream shop in Dryden. Nice 15 mile ride! Visiting from PA.
Well maintained short walk in the city ending at Fort Ontario. Includes an historic rail bridge over the Oswego River with great views. Would be 5 stars except the tunnel mentioned in the description is closed with no evidence that it’s going to be reopened.
One of the nicest trails I’ve ridden.Fat tire e bike. parked at Dresden rode to Burkett Mills in Penn Yan Mid morning week day Packed gravel with a one track grassy section Probably 30 others using the trail in the whole 12 miles Mostly hikers fair number of strollers Most of the other bikes were road bikes so it cannot be that rough good view of the water most of the way There were a few spots that would be slippery when wet,but no serious mud only ting I would like is signage at the road crossing
This was an enjoyable trail a year ago with a natural grassed trail with flora and fauna along it's length. Now it is a gravel highway with trees and bushes dozed into a unsightely mess. Nothing pleasant about it anymore. I might as well ride on 590.
