Beautiful trail ride on 11/15/25! It runs along beside a horse trail. You will see lots of farms, cows, chickens and horses and cornfields, loved it, from Amo to Greencastle .Would have give it a 5 star if there would have been bathrooms at the end of the trail.
We started at the dam and it was hard to find the start as there was no markings to say this was the start of the trail we found as we were about to leave over to the right. From there the trail was great for about 9 miles but then the gravel became so big we were having a bit of trouble riding. But all in all a fun little trail with some cool bluffs and neat bridges
The segment east of Charleston is not paved. It's only a mile but if you are a trail completionist, be prepared for a rough ride for that mile or and back. Closer to a field road than a trail.Rest of the trail was perfect.
Had a wonderful bike ride with the family. It was a hot day, but the shaded trail made for a delightful time. We parked at S Llama St where there is a small gravel parking lot, unloaded the bikes and rode the 1.6 miles to the bridge just East of S Canal St. that crosses a creek. The scenery in summer was great and the newly updated bridge was well done. An added bonus was all the trail crossings over the streets were stamped concrete that resembled the rail crossings that used to be there.
The Lincoln Prairie Grass Trail pavement has been extended 6 blocks further west to the YMCA parking lot and a beautiful new park on 16th Street.
First time on this gravel trail. Nice easy parking in Bedford. After leaving town there were a few areas getting work on after a washout. Once past those couple areas it was very beautiful shaded ride. Being a heavy user of Indianapolis trails, it is such a nice change to have peaceful country side to go through. Saw a couple of deer and a couple of bikers on, so I wasn’t worried about any stray cougars. Just kidding. Super enjoyable ride.
Noisy traffic but nice views from the boardwalk. Extend your walking buy going south through Fairbanks park on the east side of the Wabash bridge.
I’ve walked this multiple times, both alone and with grandkids. Parking is excellent and there are picnic table and benches at the site and on the Wabash bridge itself. The high sides of the first portion of the former railroad bridge obstructs views but it opens up to steel trestle for scenic river views. Beyond the bridge the trail is enjoyable with tributory on the left and woods/fields on the right. Unfortunately the trail ends at the active railroad tracks and a picnic table. Plans to extend are apparently underway. Train watching is fun at the terminus. Make it a real walk by walking through the nearby parks, downtown, and stopping at the Tasty Freeze for great ice cream.
Beautiful scenery and if you’re lucky you’ll see cows roaming the pastures! Nice trail with a good uphill climb in the middle. Ample parking at all trailheads along the route.
Ran this trail in January. The path is wide and welcoming. I have a feeling it is just breathtaking in the fall. Wish I lived closer so that I could run it more often. I felt safe. Highly recommend.
This trail was not a pleasant experience. I am not from Indiana, but was in town for the day and looking for a new trail to run. In the description it reads that the trail is concrete and asphalt. I looked through some of the pictures for this trail (hardly any that were actually of this trail) and noted that they were quite old, so I thought things may have been updated since then. I was very wrong. If anything, it has been downgraded. Granted, I did run the trail in the winter and there was snow melting, this trail was a big disappointment and basically just a mud pit with a little gravel mixed in. The ONLY part that is concrete is the section that is shared with the 2 other trails that intersect...that being Clear Creek and Limestone Greenway. After you get directly on Bloomington it is all gravel which, to me, wasn't even gravel...it was more like black cinder. There is also a portion of the trail that is through a yard and crosses the road o the rest of the trail. I am sure that this trail is most likely very pretty during the rest of the seasons as there is most likely a heavy tree canopy and the gorge itself was neat to see. The trail was flat. The tree canopy and the flatness was about the only thing going for this trail. I do have to say as an element of safety, being a woman and leaving honest reviews about feeling secure, I didn't feel safe on this trail even though it ran behind houses. There were tent's in the woods. There were homeless people walking the trail. There were bikes left in the middle of the trail...and it was January. I have ran over 50 trails in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Florida, and I was honestly scared on this trail. I would only recommend this if the sun was shining and you were with a group or carried protection of your own.
