East Lake Sammamish Trail

lots of deep gravel, not great signage

July, 2020 by rebecca.finkel

We rode this last week. I would not use a road bike on the gravel - it’s quite deep in some sections and lasts several miles. Also there are very few parks or public spaces along the trail so limited places to make stops for snacks and virtually no bathrooms. Many mansions along the way and lots of peekaboo views of the lake. I wish there was more signage too- we were riding from Marymoor to Lake Sammamish state park and couldn’t find our way into the park (hint: enter through boat launch next time). Instead we added several miles rising on the steeets in Issaquah.

Sammamish River Trail

great flat trail

July, 2020 by rebecca.finkel

We rode this trail in its entirety over two different days. Our kiddo just learned how to ride a two wheeler and we’ve been practicing trail etiquette. This trail is crowded so if young kids are riding they should be prepared to stay to the right, use voice or bell when passing. The scenery changes throughput and there are many places and parks to stop and take a break, eat snack or use the bathroom

Snoqualmie Valley Trail

Carnation to Tokul Trestle Out and Back

July, 2020 by tmurison

Rode out and back from Carnation to the big trestle with two kids (12 & 14) today. Trail in fantastic shape, lots of bikers and families on/along the trail. Railroad grade on the way up was totally manageable for us and made the return trip breeze by. Lots to see with bridges and some views of the valley below as it climbs. Highly recommended. We parked immediately adjacent to the trail in Carnation, noticed many other access points and one ~ 2 miles from the Tokul trestle that would make a good hiking destination or biking for younger kids. Total trip time was 1 hour 53 mins with plenty of stops.

Preston-Snoqualmie Trail

Pleasant and Shaded

July, 2020 by tubobshakur

This trail isn’t particularly remarkable in terms of scenery, and the “viewpoint” at the end is disappointing and an overstatement. But, because there are many better options out there in that respect, this trail isn’t overcrowded, which is nice. And, ultimately, the trail is pleasant, well shaded, and enjoyable.

Snohomish County Centennial Trail

Centennial Trail North to South

July, 2020 by georgesaul

Gorgeous day. 75, partly sunny, not very crowded. Countryside 75% of ride was extremely pleasant and pretty. There was a 1 mile detour as was noted on the official website. A busy, narrow road was the only bypass we could find. This Snohomish trail should serve to inspire other communities. Well done! The Trail Link web site should have links to the local official website(s). If it already does, I should have looked harder.

Tolt Pipeline Trail

Decent connection to Snoqualmie Valley

July, 2020 by kubluck

We rode this a few days ago to get between the Sammamish River Trail and the Snoqualmie Valley Trail. I was on a road bike, and needless to say I had to walk the first hill, but the trail is otherwise pretty rideable. There is one weird part near Snoqualmie Valley Road, when you take NE 133rd Street to get down the hill. 133rd street has signs saying "no trespassing" and it's unclear if bikers are actually allowed there or not.

Olympic Discovery Trail - Blyn to Elwha River

Some parts are better than others

July, 2020 by alexkoleber

Rode 30 miles from Blyn to Port Angeles in 3 hours 45 minutes with my dad, we had hybrid road bikes and had a decent time of it. The path is mostly pretty good quality and well-marked except for one part where we got lost in a Sequim residential area.

The first part of the trail is uninteresting with limited views of the sound and it's pretty up and down. Most of it is paved, but not all as the short description of this path indicates.

I didn't really know what we were getting into and only planned for the ride to take a couple of hours but ended up being too steep for my dad to ride in some of the creek crossings so we were delayed. I'm just a hobbyist rider so maybe I was simply unprepared but make sure you know that this path has a fair amount of elevation changes. When we did finally get to Port Angeles on the water, it was awesome! I have a feeling that we ended at the best part of the ride.

Enjoyed, but if I did it again, I might start on the West end and ride it the other direction and end sooner when the views start to wane.

Sammamish River Trail

Nice, but suboptimal for young kids and odds

July, 2020 by tubobshakur

This is a nice trail with great parking and access. But, it’s very busy on weekends, and it’s frequented by many hard-core / fast bikers. So, it wasn’t great for our family with two young bikers and a dog, as we were constantly stressed about ensuring that our kids and dog stayed out of the hard-core bikers’ way, etc.

Isn't this the "John Wayne" Trail? Awesome and maintained trail... sometimes a bit "rocky" verses "gravelly." And the rocks can be pretty sharp, got a flat tire on my last ride on the trail.

Incredible that I’ve been speeding on the highways and bridges just above this trail For decades and never knew they were there! I finally got to explore this Trail and loved it. So many bridges!

Interurban Trail (South)

Desperate need of repair

June, 2020 by rickandsara

As a 72 yr old person, I try to walk 4 or 5 days a week. When the weather is nice part of my walk is on the interurban trail through Pacific. Over the last couple of years, the portion between Ellingson Rd and 3rd Ave NE is falling apart. I have to be very careful and not step in a hole and fall. The southern part past 3rd is being extended and is very nice. I just wish someone could check out the before mentioned section. Also, it must be about time to repaint the circles around the holes. The paint is almost worn off.
